ive had problems with drummers...idk why but they get on my nerve. in my opinion, they have the easiest ob in the band.

Playing drums is like blues. Anyone can get the basics down and it's easy to think you know everything there is to it. But in order to get really, truly good at it you can't slack off with it and you've got to keep learning. A lot of drummers think that just because they can play a basic rock groove and add a few fills that they're good enough to stop learning and stop trying new things.

The praise band I participate in has had a similar problem. Except the new (at the time) youth pastor had expelled the "band leader" from the whole deal. The same guy he expelled has shapened up quite a bit now and fronts another Christian band that tours around the area.

Whats disturbing is that the youth pastor now does the same thing the old band leader used to do, and nobody has a problem with it. Isn't it strange how those things work out? :?
Not surprising at all. Even in social settings like a praise group group dynamics can take over. One 'Alpha' unseats the other. he probably did it, not because he thought the other guy was doing a bad job, but rather that he was doing his job.

because the new guy is a 'pastor' he is seen as at least somewhat of an authority figure, unlike the other guy, who was a peer who was acting too big for his britches.

Yeah, I've had trouble with Worship Leaders who took the "Leader" part too seriously in the past. I'm in a good situation in the praise band I'm in now, the Leader isn't domineering and he actually takes everyone's suggestions into consideration.
