For me it's got to be the singers. In every band I've even been in, it's the singers who are always saying "Turn it down!" "I can't hear myself!" "Can you make a shorter solo?" and the most annoying of them all "Can we change the key? I can't sing that low. How about you use a capo?". I hate capos. :x

Keyboardists are always the second worst, because they're always the theory police.

its normal human emotion to be angry at each other, even if its your best friend sometimes you just want to throw a vacuum cleaner at them...

I think dictators in bands destroy it...

Oh, I know! They just talk to people after the gig and ignore the fact that there's work to be done. That's why it's good to have a singer who plays an instrument too.

On the third day God said, "Let the drums, guitars and bass guitars be gathered together in meaning, and let words appear." And it was so. The words amalgamated with the melody to produce "vocals." And there were vocals and there was a lead singer. And God saw that it was good, even though his new creation refused to carry any equipment.

I got in a fist fight with a singer after a gig. We left him and his grilfriend, (who spent some of our gas money on pot--which is what started the argument,)on the side of the road in another city, with just enough money for bus fare. it was a good excuse to hire the singer we were jamming with when he was always late for rehearsal anyway. He is the only band mate I ever had a serious problem with. Most singers are OK, big heads, cus the girls focus on em, but hey!

I'm going to say those who 'think' they're in the band like wives and girlfriends. They can get a band member's or the entire band's guts twisted like no one else can.

It's the singer man. Every time I play with my friend it's always: Wine wine yap yap and turn it down. And it really PISSES me off (Excuse my language) And it's always majority of the time the singer gets all the credit! Have you ever noticed the bands with the girl as the singer? NO ONE ELSE GETS CREDIT! Thats why I went solo.

The one person in the band I cannot stand is the know-it-all SOB that cannot keep their big mouth shut. Sure it starts off good, but then someone decides that they are the schiz-net and ticks everyine else off.

This is usually the singer, but sometimes it can be the Bassist, Lead Guitarist, or Drummer. I have never had an issue with another Rhythm Guitarist.

Let me just say this. I'm a guitar player and a singer ( I don't happen to be singing in the band I'm currently in though). Usually the problem is that a PA can only be turned up so loud before it starts squealing in practice situations. And generally the instruments can be turned up louder than that threshold.

If your band isn't willing to turn down the volume so the singer can be heard, you can do damage to his vocal cords. Your singer shouldn't HAVE to strain his voice to be heard. If you're seeing the veins pop out of his neck on a regular basis and his voice is cracking, IT'S YOUR FAULT!! And when he can't get through a set at a gig without his voice going out on him at some point, that's your fault too. It puts a singer in an impossible situation. You're pissed because he wants you to turn down during practices (which most musicians still ignore) , then you're pissed if his voice can't make it through a set later.

There's absolutely no reason to practice at 50,000 decibels. So I'm going to have to side with singers on this argument. Because technically it's the Drummer who is being selfish. Drummers always want to be bashing the drums as hard as they freaking can. That in turn makes the bassist and guitarist turn up to match it, leaving the singer unable to match everyone else because the PA has a threshold that keeps him/her from being able to.

So my answer is going to have to be drummers who just can't find it in themselves to ease up a bit during practice.

That's exactly why we invested in a good electric set for practices!! The drummer can only be as loud as we make him!!!!!
