After a quick search, I didn't see a topic posted about this yet. If there is one, I apologize.

Has anyone checked out the new Prince album, LotusFlow3r? They are selling it exclusively at Target stores - it's a 3-disc set, 2 discs of Prince and a disc of music from his protege Bria Valente.

As per usual, he has an odd marketing an distribution campaign going on for the album, but the music is great! Lots of lovely guitar on this new stuff. I recommend it. :D

Sounds cool dude, but be careful what you say. His lawyers may find you and wedgie you for advertising without consent ;).

I'm guessing you know about all his copyright claims and blahness?

Sales are not what they used to be so any creative marketing scheme is a go. Marketing behind a corporation probably is not a bad idea. Prince is not the first or the last to do this.

Thanks for sharing. I'm not a fan of Prince or Formerly Known but I do appreciate what he has accomplished.

By the way your websites are cool.

It is hard for me to buy a prince album(I have 2 1999/puple rain)as you dont know what you are going to get as his music as brilliant as it is jumps all over the place.I wish he would do a really guitar driven album as he is as good as it gets when he lets it rip but for some reason he kind of teases us guitarist.Like here is a taste of what I can do and blow your mind but I am not going to give you a full meal, which is a shame

I have his Lotus Flow3r CD set and it's the only Prince music I've bought or been interested in. He plays all the instruments and does all vocals and his version of the old Tommy James tune, "Crimson & Clover" is pretty
clever throwing excerpts of "Wild Thing" in there.

Feel Better...Feel Good...Feel Wonderful!!!

I'd rather eat a big ole bowl of lead paint chips than listen to Prince or the artist formerly known as a symbol or whatever he is now.

Seriously. If you're not interested there is no need for comment (rude or otherwise). The thread was made for those who are interested. Thanks.

Look, the OP asked if anyone checked it out. I've heard tracks from it and stand by my statement. If you want only positive statements I'm sure Prince has a fan site. You need to lighten up.

But your post didn't say you'd heard it and didn't like it. Your post said you'd rather poison yourself than listen to a Prince album. So a reasonable reader would would infer that, since you obviously haven't eaten a big ol' bowl of lead paint chips, that you hadn't heard the album and were just shooting off your mouth.

Sounds like you're the one shooting off your mouth now.

It sounds like you need to learn to recognize when someone is "upset" or merely explaining something to you: those are two very different ideas, and not being able to tell the difference will cause you much pain in life.

:D
