I took the plunge and bought a Super Champ XD. I have heard mostly good comments about it and it fit nicely in my budget. I was especially eager to hear how the Hot Noiseless pickups I recently installed would sound. Fellow forum members, it was such a revelation when I strummed that first chord on the clean channel. I was instantly teleported back 35 years to my best friend's basement. I had a third hand 67 Twin Reverb and a Fender Jaguar. What pure musical nirvana and rapture! I had truly forgotten how special the sound of a tube amp is. I don't think I played with the digital effects section for more than a few minutes. Clean, pure Fender sound was what I craved. And I got it. That little box is amazing!
The HN pickup's were a good investment it seems. Lots of punch but very clear at the same time. I have them set at pickguard level. I have lots more experimenting to do but at least for the moment, it seems like I made the right choice.

Congratulations. I am hoping for one myself.

And by the way, is your signature at the bottom referring to Jimi Hendrix?

Indeed it is. One of the saddest days I ever lived through.

It's all about tubes brother, they just sound better. Welcome back to the true faith.
