My main sources are GC and EBay, although I have bought one from Craigslist and one from an on line store in Florida but the name escapes me at the moment.

I've also bought guitars and amps (for many years) from Nicotera's Music in Uitca, NY (where I grew up). Very honest and reliable, but she happens to be on the opposite side of the country. Still, if there's something I know for fact I want, I will usually get a quote from Nicoteras. The only downside there, particularly with Fender, is that they're shipped from just a few miles from where I live, all the way east and back again so I typically only buy from there during my annual visit to the relatives.

I bought a vintage amp and an Ibanez (Ric clone) bass from Bernunzio's in Rochester, NY. That's a great store for vintage and some new and they also have a Web site if you feel like browsing nostalgia.

My Tele was a gift from a good friend that is management at Fender. I just purchased a Douglas Shadow Gold lefty from Rondo Music. It's a real sweet Les Paul copy that plays like a dream and was priced at $129. Great instrument for a real low price. I plan on purchasing an Agile from there soon. But nothing, and I do mean nothing, pays as well as my Tele. But the Douglas isn't too far behind.

Never heard of Bernuzio's until today. From their website, they look to be about the same as Gruhn... maybe with a smaller inventory.

I'd be interested in seeing a full list of what the HOG has in stock, as far as vintage goes... I know there are quite a few 50s/60s Gibson flat-tops, and quite a few ES models. Quite a few Les Pauls, of all varieties and years. Not as many Fenders as you'd expect, but there are plenty of your classic 50s/60s beginner guitars - Silvertone, Kay, Harmony, etc.

Luke and 62HR were bought at MakenMusic.
AmDlx was bought from GC last spring when they were heavily discounted.

Not the location in San Antonio Texas..is it?

I live about 2 miles from the one in San Antonio. It's where I buy picks and strings, but that's about it. Their guitar selection is not very good, and their amp selection is worse. :?

I have bought guitars from Alamo Music in San Antonio, as well as from Sam Ash and World Music Supply. I also picked up a cheap acoustic in a pawn shop.

Yeah, the one we have in San Antonio is a nice little local business, but it's nothing like the real deal! :)

I buy mine at a local Mom and Pop store. I cannot stand the local GC here where I live (although I have been to some in other cities that were good). I do like to play before I pay and I do not like the sales person "hovering" over me. I do not like the idea of buying without picking it up first. I also like the smaller stores because there are usually not full of people playing Smoke on the Water, Sweet Child of Mine, or Iron Man.
