Has any one tried out one of these? I saw a few for sale in Hastings the other day for $50, and I thought it'd be nice if I were to replace my old shorted-out micro amp.

Or if there is anything better out there, I'm willing to take suggestions on other types of micro amps. Not looking for anything special like OD, just as long as it does what an amp does.

I have one that I use when not to disturb anyone - I like it - It sells for $39 online and at the local guitar shop..

I have one - I take it on the road with my for hotel rooms. Actually, it puts out a fairly nice tone...

Whats the output jack size? If its 1/4" it may make a good plugin to the effects return. Also do they fit strats?

Yep 1/4 in. Fits ok - I use it on my strats.

I would recommend the orange micro crush over any mini amp. That thing is amazing! It is a lot bigger than the Vox though.
