Howdy. Just an enquiry.
Whenever I am home alone (which is quite often) I like to take my (electric) guitar to play downstairs. My amp is too big and heavy to walk up and down stairs with just for 30 mins of play so I am thinking of getting one of those cute novelty mini amps.
I feel like an idiot going into the store and trying each one out so I decided to turn to the internet.
I can't find any good comparison reviews and youtube isn't good because you can't tell the sound properly from somebody's cellphone camera.
Here are my options :)

Fender mini deluxe amp

Fender Mini '57 Twin Amp
http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/3 ... n-amp.html

Fender Mini Tonemaster

Marshall Ms-2 Micro Amp
http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/3 ... ssic-.html

Marshall Ms-4 Micro Stack
http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/3 ... stack.html

Orange Micro Crush
http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/1 ... crush.html

I am only looking at the cheap micro amps and do not care for those little vox headphone plugs.
I really appreciate any help people can give

I've got the MS2 Marshall mini amp. Its not too bad for what it is. It has a clean and overdrive channel, but the clean gets overdriven at higher volumes. It also has a headphone jack and belt clip. I have only had this for a few months but I lilke it. It sounds a bit buzzy now, maybe because I dropped it a couple of times or because I haven't changed the battery yet, but for a small portable amp I think its pretty good.

I've got a Smokey micro amp that's about the size of a pack of cigarettes . It's tons of fun for a personal amp and they don't cost much.

I've also got an old Pignose 7-100 that is way fun to play through.

If you want to spend some coin, the Orange Tiny Terror is pretty darned cool and sounds awesome

Bros,

the Epiphone valve jr. 5 watt tube head w/ extension cab w/ 12 inch Eminenance speaker is awseome. the tone from this thing stock is amazing, and you can still buy a mod kit for this from bit mo or mercury and i hear the thing is just a screamer after the mod. I own one and if it was stolen would buy another. The tone thru the amp clean is like a mini peavey classic 30 , and with my boss GT-8 effects board it does it all. And you can add up to three cabs. All at low volume.

thanks for the replies but I am only looking for a really cheap one.
Its just so I can run downstairs with it and if I really wanted a good tone I would just stay upstairs with my Vox.
I play mostly blues and jazz but I do sometimes play some heavier stuff.

I've got the Fender Mini Tonemaster. Actually was a gift from a friend for fixing his guitar and setting it up. It's a fun little amp to play with - actually, it has been a lifesaver as my Blues Jr. has been in the shop for nearly a month... yuck!

I have never played with any of the other mini amps so i can't speak directly to their quality or how it relates to the one I have...

I have one for my living room, i can't say enough good things about it.solo it handles that sweet clean fender tone, I use one of my ibanez Tubescreamers (older TS 808,) to add some crunch, i get crazy good tones at low volumes, from clean to dirty with this simple set up.if i feel a bit countrified, i add a compressor. its really good clean tone is the key, its a great base and easily modified to get other good sounds. this little amp has a cabinet extension jack, I should really try it out, and see what it sounds like through speakers that can move more air.
and I really dig that 50's styling.

The Danelectro HoneyTone is a cool little amp, and it sounds pretty good. I throw one in the suitcase when I travel.

wow thanks for the replies all
The smokey cigarette box sized one wasn't an option because nowhere around here seems to have it. Also, my friend had a honeytone and I wasn't fond of it.
From what I had previously read, the Orange Micro Crush seemed the best and that article kinda confirmed it for me.
I think I will be going for that.
I did read and appreciate all of your replies. Thankyou
