I honestly find it amazing that after years of owning other brands i find myself back to a Fender and appreciating the Stratocaster more than ever. I can't believe that all those years ago someone developed the perfect guitar. Boggles the mind. Now you can buy some great sounding and looking guitars but i don't think anythings as versatile the Fender Strat. And i think just about every notable guitarist owns one.

He could play good!

Percy George Herbert Fender (22 August 1892 in Balham, London – 15 June 1985 in Exeter, Devon) was an English all-round cricketer who played 13 Tests for England. He was a middle order batsman and bowled mainly leg spin.

Fender began his first-class career with Sussex. He made his debut in 1910, but achieved little at the club and in 1914 moved to Surrey, where he was to remain for the rest of his time in the game and found much success. He took 84 wickets that season helping Surrey to win the County Championship, and was named one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in the Almanack's 1915 edition; when cricket resumed after the war in 1920 he claimed 124 victims. Between 1921 and 1931 he was the county's captain and made the most of a mediocre attack to force Surrey into Championship contention on many occasions. Herbert Sutcliffe wrote in 1935 that he was the best captain that he had known, ahead even of Douglas Jardine and Brian Sellers.

STRATOCASTERS are the most versitle guitar ever for alot of reasons, the whammy bar, the possibilty of single and humbucker pick ups, even the shape is awesome, and the are not neck heavy and they don't weight alot like a Les Paul. Plus, if you look at the best guitarists since the 50's, like 90% played STRATOCASTERS. I had thought about buying a Les Paul recently, however I couldn't think of a good reaon to change.

I love my Mustang, but I also love my non-Fenders and my main guitar is my Les Paul--so I had to go with other brands.

BUT that is in no way meant to say anything against Fender. As I said--I love my Mustang, and I hope to one day own a Strat. I love playing them.
Les Pauls are more "me" than Fenders are "me"--but I love both.

So if you'd had a choice to pick to say I love more than one brand--including Fender--I'd have chosen that one.

After all I like the slogan--Love many guitars, one woman.
(Saw it on a t-shirt.)

My "favorite" guitar at any given time will usually depend on my mood or the type of music I'm playing/writing. One week it might be a Gretsch or it could be Gibson or Epiphone. But, with all the guitars that I have my Strat is the one that is always sitting on a stand within reach in my music room. The others are either in their cases in a closet or in a cabinet.

My true favorite varies from day to day, hour to hour and song to song. But I'll always have a fondness for the Mustang, so I checked Other Fender. When I started playing (1967), Mustangs were about the only affordable but decent guitar out there for a 15 year old who had to pay the whole shot himself.

I used to be a metal head for many years - and hated everything else in that phase. Give my my Jackson and JCM800 and I was in heaven. I thought strats were sissy guitars with no balls.

Then I heard a friend of mine play some great blues and classic rock on one. I instantly fell in love with the tone. I could do so much with those tones - clean, dirty - tons of pickup combinations.

I bought my first strat in 94, red MIM that I still have. Bought a MIA in 98 that I've modded though the years. I see no need in every wanting another guitar in my life. There are more tones out of that guitars and my amp that I could ever need, and a good strat tone still inspires me and makes me smile every time I pick it up.

Never had an interest in Les Pauls. Overpriced boat anchors with a generic humbucker tone to me. I can get a perfect LP tone from my old Peavey, AND it has a floyd rose, and a faster neck in my opinion. Never play it anymore.

A great strat, through a great tube amp, in the hands of a skilled player - there's nothing better for me.

the tele is my fav but i've explained why too many times here , my p-bass that i have now is probably the most amazing guitar i've had in a long long time , i smile because all of the interns and most of the engineers at the studio want to play her whenever i'm not , there are other bass guitars available there at the studio , for tone there is my p-bass , you all will hear her soon though and then you can let me know if she is all that.

Fender makes honest guitars at honest prices! No matter your preference, you can do and play anything on a Fender

Although I have a great Strat, I had to vote for my Tele 8) I don't have the words to explain why, it's a Tele thang I guess. Got twang?

Because the Stratocaster approaches perfection in an electric guitar.
