They had one good song Zombie. That seems to be enough sometimes.

My taste in music must be awful  I liked Nirvana a lot, I also enjoy punk music. I can listen to Bjork, although I prefer her earlier stuff with the Sugar Cubes. I always try to keep an open mind where music is concerned, where can I download some Polka?

Hey, don't feel bad, Snowy! I'm apparently right there with you being a U2 fan. :) And I happen to like Bjork, too! I saw her a few years back at the Roseland in NYC and I thought it was a very cool show....

The GRATEFUL DEAD. I never understood the fuss or enormous following of this band.

Funny you should mention the Dead. When I started to get into the scene in the mid seventies, it was with just a couple of friends. The vast majority of my music enthusiast buddies' attitudes toward the Dead were "Don't get it," "Don't care," or "Don't like it." I'm sure you are not the only one here that wonders what all the fuss is about.

When I read the thread topic, I thought of The Dead immediately. I grew up during that time and I didn't get it either. There were people who quit their jobs to follow their tour across the country. It's not that their music is bad, it isn't. But I never understood the extreme adoration and devotion to what seemed to me a very average band.

Up till now I felt you had to be a player, most of the artist you mention are not players. I prefer R&B ,Jazz and most mellow ballads. The music most of the groups don't show that these guys or girls(Heart) can play they seemingly learned a few chords and Oh Boy!!! Give me George Benson, Earnie Isley, Ray Parker,Jr, at least they do play...

To like the Gratefull Dead, I think you need a head-full of drugs.

Nickleback... why does anyone like them? Blah.

Dashboard Confessional... whiney and boring.
