I don't understand how people like the Jonas Brothers can idolize john mayer and $@!&, but still find it acceptable to go on stage and pretend to sing/play guitar. They are the first 'band' I've seen guitar sync. #$@*&!% faggots. I'd kill them all in one jab to the jaw. Especially that $@!&# who was dating my miley cyrus :@

Adding to Mayercaster's comments -- I don't understand lip sync "bands" and acts at all. If they were billed as an acrobatic show with background music, fine ... but when they're billed as a musical act, no good.

Case in point: they don't bill Cirque du Soleil as a band, singer or singing group even though there's music (sometimes live), singing (ditto) and the music is an intrinsic part of the performance.

The Greatful Dead always sounded out of tune to me...........maybe they were more in tune after smoking a doobie?!?!?

I do remember however my Mother telling me that she did not understand and disliked the music I listened to. She was raised on Big Band and the Rat Pack (by the way I like Mel Torme, he was Mr. Smooth).

Could be that all of this is a generational thing?

My taste in music must be awful  I liked Nirvana a lot, I also enjoy punk music. I can listen to Bjork, although I prefer her earlier stuff with the Sugar Cubes. I always try to keep an open mind where music is concerned, where can I download some Polka?

The new Bob Dylan...performing his catalog of great songs where it takes almost the whole song before you know what he is playing.

don't most non-rap songs rhyme?

its hard to give an answer to this, but i guess i'd go with emo as my response. cant narrow down to a certain band. emo music is like TOO depressed, almost in a fake and fabricated way. i highly doubt their lives were as terrible as they make it seem. and maybe they were, i dont know, but just deal with it instead of crying in a corner and dressing all weird. life ain't gonna get better by just sulking over everything in your life that strokes your fur the wrong way. grow the f**k up and move on.

the funny thing is that people who listen to emo listen because it relates to them somehow. but, if you're that depressed, wouldn't you want to listen to music that makes you feel better, like upbeat and all? i dunno, maybe its just me. depressing music just makes me more depressed and want to die. seems counter-productive

The way people relate to Emo is that they are wannabe "hurt artist" , or starving artist or depressed artist. Its all just about lying to yourself that the world is against you because mommy didn't give you an iPod for Christmas. So I get emo but I don't like it.

But what I don't get is Britney Spears. It's bad to listen to Rock music but it's alright to let your children listen to Britney singing "I'm a slave for you" :?: How is that healthy?

And I also don't understand SigurRós, I mean I am Icelandic and I don't understand what they are singing about 99% of the time.
