So, I have my awesome new Strat, but, of course, factory strings are a weakness. So, I was planning on getting some Electro-Harmonix 9's, same as the factory strings, because it said in the manual for the Strat that changing gauge in strings will "need to be compensated for" because of the tremolo bridge and stuff, and I'm not really too knowledgable when it comes to the techincals about this stuff yet. And the current strings are feeling good, they're just not too good quality-wise. So I figured 9's would be fine. Just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with them and could let me know if you think they're worth buying.

Thanks in advance to any and all. I know I'm just the dude who pops in, like, once a week to ask stupid questions, so I'd also like to thank everyone for their tolerance and kewl-ness.

BTW, the main genres I dabble in are: alternative, punk, psychedelia, blues, grunge*, metal, avant-garde/experimental, and rock and roll.

*(real grunge, not Nevermind and Ten stuff. Both are good records, but not grunge)

What string gauge was your Strat set up for before? Are the strings you have on there the factory strings that came with the guitar?

Then you shouldn't worry about any major adjustments, it should work just fine and feel good too. :)

Sweet, thanks man. Now, the last guitar i had didn;t have a tremolo arm, so is there any extra step or thing to worry/know about when changing strings?

I've never had any problems with my Strat. Just don't mess with any screws or the springs, and it should stay just like you had it.
