Never heard his solo albums.
Like his playing today, seems to me he has overcome much of his
demons. He looks happier and healthtier these days.

To me he's a good guitar player. He's got a nice signature style of songwriting and thats where I think he shines. I wouldn't call him a great guitar player though.

I think John is one of the better guitar players around today. He does look much better and happier now that he is off the junk.

"To Record Only Water for 10 Days" is one of my favorite albums. It's so raw. Every song is about 2:00; just enough time to establish a melody and the song's overall concept. Such a gem.
