There are some, but most of what I hear are waltzes or country ballads. :?:

Hot, Blue and Righteous - ZZ Top.

Although I'd count it as 6/8.

'I, Me, Mine' by The Beatles, has a 3/4 signature in the verse but not in the chorus.

Manic depression by hendrix. There is the 4/4 bar towards the end of the verse though

I suppose Norwegian Wood is probably 6/8 really.

But Buddy Rich definitely played it as 3/4!

Ah, an all time fave...

And on that 6/8 - 3/4 thing, I guess Hot 'Lanta would correctly be 6/8. But the Allmans' drummers gave it a very 3/4 feel - at least when I used to jam along with 'em on the kit...!

"Strong Enough" by Sheryl Crow (I had to consult a songbook -- couldn't think of any off the top of my head!).

What a coincidence! I just heard the Buddy Rich version last night! What a cool arrangement. 8)

Hi Mike: excellent! That was always his "can't leave out" hit when he toured Britain every year. For obvious reasons.

If you were listening to it on the original Big Swing Face album then later on comes another number with that crossover 6/8 - 3/4 feel: Willowcrest. My all time fave to jam along to (with my drummer's hat on).

Buddy Rich: a true legend.

Cheers - C

That's cool, Ceri, but I heard it on Radyotuncbilek - a web jazz station from Turkey. Check it out...

Wow, far out! How adventurous: now I feel such a stay-at-home!

BTW: I wish some more people would post 3/4 numbers. One of my fave grooves - but very underused in the rock world. Which was no doubt the point of your thread, Mike...

Cheers - C
