Cuz I can't get the damn thing to work. It doesn't seem to recognize my guitar at all. And it's not the converter jack, I can run it on that cheesy Sound Recorder that comes with Windows just fine. But Amplitube just acts like there's no guitar in it at all.

Hope to get it working soon, cuz this thing seems like it's a ton of fun!

Still haven't figured it out yet. I am technologically handicapped or something.

I haven't tried it, mainly because my Korg PX5D has a lot of the same models, but I am interested in hearing others reviews about it....

Did you buy it, or download it?
If you purchased it, did you read the readme file, or the manual that came with it, and try and debug it? Good place to start.

Are you trying to run it stand alone, or as a plug in to another application? Did you buy the right version?
Have you gone into preferences and set up your inputs and outputs? First place I would check.

If you downloaded it for free, then you got what you paid for.

I downloaded it, and I'm sure it works, I just have no idea what I'm doing and there's no online manual. I'm running it as a stand-alone. I don't really know how to set anything up.

Well, If you had ponied up the money and gotten it honestly, instead of stealing someone's hard work and income, maybe you could get some support.

I'm sure the team of programmers that worked 18 hour days developing this " ton's of fun" software did it just so you could help yourself to it for free.

I'm sure they don't really need the income you just stole.

As it is, you get what you deserve. Nothing.

Really, dude...would you walk into your neighbors house, or your local music store, and just walk out with an amp or guitar? Because that's what you are doing when you steal software. So, apparently not only are you technologically handicapped, but also morally handicapped.

And now everyone in the fender forum knows. Congratulations.

On the bright side, there's good chance you loaded a virus when you installed it.

I'm sorry, all I got out of that was "Wahhhhh wahhhhh wahhhhhh!"

How do you know I just didn't download the FREE DEMO from the OFFICIAL SITE?

Way to make an $@!&#*% of yourself.

The demos on the site sound good ... anyone tried the full version yet?

So did you? If so, I would be happy to apologize. You didn't say " It 's the free demo from the site, so I know it's good..." you said " I downloaded it, and I'm sure it works" , from which I inferred it was an unauthorized version. Part of the reason I asked in the first place is that cracked versions of software rarely function, so it was a valid question.

The reality is, if you do a Google search for "amplitude fender" the third hit on the list is a bit torrent site, so obviously it is a problem. If my position on anti piracy makes me an $@!, I can live with that. If your livelihood was impacted by software piracy, you would be all " wahh, wahhh, wahhh, " too.

By the way, I am pretty sure the demo version comes with documentation, and the company would probably be willing to provide support if you inquired.

After all, they are in business, and would like the opportunity to make a sale.

Yes, turns out there is indeed a manual. Overlooked it, woops :D

And I started playing with the buffer levels, which helped me get quick bursts of sound, which is progress, but its still not working 100%. I am really bad with this sort of thing.

So are you going to finally offer me some real answers, Mr. IK Multimedia's Spokesman, or do I really have to deal with technical support for a demo that goes bad next week?

Since you asked so nicely...

Does the computer you are using meet the minimum requirements to run the software?

Windows®
Minimal: Pentium 4 / Athlon XP processor, 1 GB of RAM, Windows XP / Vista or later.
Suggested: 2.33 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, 2 GB of RAM, Windows XP / Vista or later.
Supported Plug-in formats: VST, RTAS.

What sort of audio interface are you using? Does the software recognize it, and is it assigned to the input and output under preferences?
Try and shut off any background apps that may be running, like your anti virus or backup programs, that may be hogging resources.
Do you have any other audio apps open, causing driver conflicts?
Are you running a sequencer/recorder program? If so, which one?
Are you running asio drivers? you can check under devices/audio/drivers in Windows system.
Are your audio drivers the most up-to date for your device?
Does the site have any updates for the software that wasn't in the original install?

Lots of variables to the problem. But that is were I would start.

And I apologize for questioning your character. My bad.

Yes, I meet mininum requirements.

What do you mean by audio interface? Like what am I running the guitar line into? A little converter I got from Radio Shack, which has never given me trouble in the past. Yes and yes, I would imagine.

No other audio apps open.

No recording programs open.

I don't see anything that says asio drivers under my device manager. I see Legacy Audio Drivers, and Realtek High Definition Audio (the latter of which is an option in the program's preferences for I/O).

Most positively yes, up to date.

Don't see anything about patches for the program.

No hard feelings :D

Well - if it's Radio shack, then it's a third party manufacturer under their label, so there is a good chance there isn't any up-to-date support- realtek just makes generic audio chips. . Realtek could also be the device for a built in sound card...hard to tell if it's the radio shack or not. Do you have a built in sound card on the motherboard ? If it's built in, it will probably be your default on installs.

This is what the Realtek website says

Audio drivers available for download from the Realtek website are general drivers for our audio ICs, and may not offer the customizations made by your system/motherboard manufacturer. To be sure you obtain the full features/customizations provided in your original audio product, please download the latest drivers from your system/motherboard manufacturer's website.
A little research should at least let you know if the driver you are running is the most up-to-date one.

Is your interface just for a guitar, or is it your entire sound support for the computer? What ins and outs does it have? How is it connected ? USB? Are you going in at line level or does it have an instrument input? How old is it? If it doesn't support asio drivers, that can cause problems. Are you running XP or Vista?

Is it the default device in your system?

How did you configure your audio in/outs in Amplitude ?

Can you give me something specific? What does your preferences look like in the program? Is it assigned to that realtek device for input and output? It may default to a built in audio card, rather than the other one. Does it give you ASIO drivers as an option for audio in or out??

You can also try going to Microsoft and loading the latest version of directx, an see if it clears anything up. Also search and see if windows can find a newer version of the realtek driver out on the web.

Like I said, lots of possibilities...Usually these problems are legacy hardware issues for unsupported devices and out of date drivers. Might be time to upgrade...

Built-in sound card.

The radio shack device is a simple converter jack.

I'll dig around for updates and see if that works.

Yeah...most modeling software and and software synths require a little more audio horsepower than a built in sound card is going to give ya...

I see that they have a package that comes with it's own interface. If it really looks like something you are interested in, that might be a solution.

Sometimes upgrading is painful and expensive.

After I upgraded to Mac Leopard, all my old software wouldn't run anymore, and was too many versions ago to qualify for free upgrades. It cost me 500 bucks to get it up to date.

On the other hand, now I have an absolutely smoking digital music studio with more my power than I can ever use, for what I use to pay for 1 rack mount processor.
