You know based on the answers on this thread I am just going to kill it here and now. Brad, if you can lock it it seems to be a moot point. Ultimately it is my guitar and I should do whatever I want to it. That seems to be the advise given here. I was just hoping that someone else out there had some advise or experience with these pick-ups.

I did read a thread earlier tonight and I think I will try that option. Thanks to everyone that responded.

Personally, it may be a good idea to try out other guitars with each type of pickups. IMO, I would go for the Alnico 5's, just for the wider range of flexibility. But in the end, its just all up to you. :)

I have. I am kinda split down the middle. Love both. Just looking for other opinions. Thanks for the Alnico V responce, I too think it is a very versatile p-up. I will count that as a vote for it. It is one that I am leaning towards...

Do you want a backup of the CV or do you want something very different?

I vote for the Distortion. Maybe a mini JB or something not as HEAVY might be a good choise too.

There are many pickups that use Alnico 5 magnets though. Alnico is just a alloy of Cobalt, Aluminium and Nickel and the number is the Grade 3, 4, 5,8

I do not want to back up the Classic Vibe, but it is sad when it sounds better than the Fender. I bought the CV to back up the Fender in a pinch. I did read a thread earlier tonight about p-up height and lowered my p-up height. Now I have to wait until tomorrow before I can see if it worked.

If it doesn't...we'll see what happens next.

I checked them out. The Mafia's sounded good, I just wonder how they'll sound in my Fender. Thanks for the website...Never heard of them before this post.
