Amazing...I got an email from Gibson and one of the features was Jeff Beck Iconic Fender Esquire. It gave a history of the famed guitar, the songs he created with it and the eventual sale to Seymour Duncan. I never thought I wold ever say, take a trip and enjoy a great article about a Fender on the gibson website! By the way, I also took a look at their clothing. Like their guitars, a lot of money for a lot of nothing!

Still. Shows that perhaps the "bitter rivalry" between the companies may exist more in the minds of some users than in reality...

Now that you mention the ugly looking guitar, I have to add that his Esquire is truly Road Worn!

Truth there. A lot of people seem to forget that Leo fender and Les Paul(and Paul Bigsby, for that matter,) used to hang out at les Paul's house and drink together. Les still has, as a gift from Leo back in 1950,one of the original 'Canoe paddle' Nocasters apparently its in phenomenal shape.

Still really cool that the company acknowledges a competitor's guitar on it's site. An aside, 'Heart Full of Soul' is by far my favorite yardbirds song.
