Going through a collection of wireless and non wireless phones that ended up in my possession. Keeping the best (the candlestick and wall crank) and tossing the rest.

Trying to get used to playing a long scale bass again, after playing a short scale for at least two years or so. Maybe three at this point. Luckily, the Squier Jazz has a thin neck on it, so it's not too bad of an adjustment. I've already put in several hours over this week since last Sunday.

Went shopping for a replacement LR chair with Mrs. FSB. Ended up with a deal and, because her birthday is coming up, one chair became a pair.
Then we went to the Mall’s liquor store only to be greeted by two local burly cops. Later the clerk at the counter told us the main store where we were at had been victimized earlier by a teenager (or more) where they walk in and walk out with whatever they grab.

A bystander took it upon himself to hold his arm out as a young girl ran into it at throat level. Too bad she took a tumble and was apprehended.

The clerk then informed me that the NBA and NHL called off all games until further notice because of the Coronavirus scare. A player from the Utah Jazz, Rudy Gobere (center), tested positive and a referee made contact. Other contacts are under consideration including reporters. The NHL followed the NBA also cancelling.

It has now been announced that Tom Hanks in Australia and his wife have been tested as positive.

As for the virus. think smart, be prepared to make sacrifices need be, and if it requires extremes to keep the odds in your favour, or if you have doubts, it’s better than the alternative.

Stay safe.

Busy day, today. Laundry and a lot of shopping, just in case we get locked down here.

Finally finished up the laundry, and just chilling out listening to music. I got to go out tomorrow once again to the store to get some more stuff, but then we're going to try to avoid going out again for as long as possible, avoiding any potential crowds, because of this corona virus thing. I guess this is a serious FUBAR situation going down.

We stocked up a little while ago while expecting more snow which, fortunately, fell short of it’s mark. Two rules living up here in the great white north. Fill up the gas tank and have enough food in the cupboards and freezer for a three to five day emergency,

That said, we were sitting pretty well. This Corona scare found here has the media like elsewhere on overdrive. Not that much of it isn’t warranted (much is); but, it is over saturated and, while informative, some is editorial, here say, political everywhere, and lacking since a lot of information from the health and research experts is still unknown.

Well, today was an experience here in the ‘Peg. With no advance notice and taking general precautions like others (carrying wipes, using gloves, avoiding crowds, staying at home. and so on), we needed to pick up water tank bottles at the major grocery store down the street ; but, first a quick stop at the bank to pay bills. We picked a time when working hours should have minimized the customers. The bank set me up for being wedged in a lineup of several people in front and behind with a long wait to the teller. That was uncomfortable when I also had to exchange documents with the teller. Normally. no problem, but lots of chances to catch the flu should it be out and about undercover.

I planned our short trip and shopping to one store (out of three major and one minor grocery chains all within 2- 3 blocks of each other).

Now the surprise. The store was unusually packed and so were the carts at a time that was out of character for this event. Essentials like sugar (which was on our list) and crazy things like beans and fries and what have you were flying off the shelves leaving them empty throughout the store. The store was blowing prices away, some by 40% or adding a second or third item for free. It was more like a close out than a sale We got one last German sausage at $3 that regularly retailed at $11!

Clerks said the same was absolutely crazy at Costco. Stuff ran out everywhere since, rumour has it, at least in the store we shopped, suppliers are running into difficulties in some circumstances. Perhaps, the oil related indigenous blockades on the rails are having their effect, or maybe the virus scheduling changes with transports and air are an issue. Living in central Canada puts us in a spot where we neither have a harbour nor easy access to food growth north and south.

We thought we’d avoid crowds and get little through the cash register quickly. Instead we got crowded in by long lineups of a very well travelled multicultural group. We decided to grab some sale items, since we were in that commotion anyhow. It’s been quite awhile since I’ve made Duck a l’orange as it is pricey up here. The bird was discounted, and I took one because today’s price would normally only buy you two drum sticks.

The panic was something to see, and it reminded me of how shelves are stripped of their goods in a catastrophe like fire, flood, or other tragedy.
So much for my low profile prevention. If I make it through this Coronavirus scare it won’t be because I went grocery shopping as a precaution. Although, I did pick up ice cream, :D
Stay safe and well.

Checking email and the forum, which looks like it's coming to an end. :( I don't know what's up today, maybe I'll get to jam, but that's up to my girlfriend if she wants to drum. We did as much shopping and prepping as we could, so I guess it's just wait and see how all of this virus crap pans out, and hope for the best, and try to be careful.

Got my fingers crossed for ya, Marky. I don’t know how much it will help since they don’t work for me on the fret board like I’d like. Okay. I’ll cross my toes too. :P

Waiting for some limited tall stands for my Harmon Kardon WiFi / Bluetooth speakers. They conceal the AC cords, and the speakers are about 3 years old, no longer made, and the Dutch stands are difficult if not impossible to find so I lucked out when Amazon had 4 pairs that showed up. Should be here Wednesday. :D
