We decided to have a roasted chicken instead of any turkey this year, because we didn't want to deal with a lot of leftover turkey, but hey, it's just me and my girlfriend, and we did still have stuffing, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce, so it was somewhat traditional. :P Anyway, I'm going to take the leftover chicken off the bones and make some chicken salad with it. It's time to get my hands messy. I imagine if we had a dog, they'd be in there with a hopeful look, wouldn't they? :P

I got up nice and early at 04:30 and I'm working on my second cup of coffee. It's raining like heck outside and very windy so it looks like I'll be indoors today. I have the heat on and it feels nice and cozy. I'm feeling music in me so it's time for some writing and playing. 8)

Thinking of all of you celebrating a Happy Thanksgiving. Earlier this month we bought a Turkey Lurkey, Injected it with butter and spices, sometimes with orange juice, white wine, ginger ale, or other, cooked it and baggied it for sammie’s hot and cold or dinners if we want. A 20 pound turkey goes a long way for two people. We had a 30 Ibs./ 13.6 kgs. before this one, but it was a little big to get in the pan.
We also bought a giant pack of large chicken drumsticks. More baggies. Dipped ‘em in BBQ sauce ( with a touch of spiced rum optional), Teriyaki, Sweet and Sour, Honey and Garlic, or whatever sticky concoction one chooses, and rolled ‘em into a mix of 2 cups flour and 1/4 cup cornstarch and a little salt (or spices) if desired or needed. Bag ‘em and mark the bags. In the end we’ll freeze several different kinds with 4 - 6 legs each. Then after a thaw . . . on parchment paper (or not, but I recommend it . . . you might never go back) cook ‘em 375° for 30 mins., turn for 20 mins., turn once more for 20 mins. Tastes like deep fried, but thinner crispy batter. Saves on the eggs for fish batter. Do it ahead, mix and match, makes it easy peasy when you get the growlies. Voila!
However you find your day. Have a good one. :D

Checking the forum, and finished up with all of the other social media crap. I miss going for walks, but the weather hasn't been that great to do that. I'll go to the grocery store later, when it opens to get some stuff. Sunday, I'm going to turn 48, so I've been sort of reflecting on that a bit. I suppose there's no point in dwelling on crap, though. You can't go back and change your past, that's for sure.

Hanging up a large nude painting that blends well with our bedroom walls. Nothing risqué. it’s not me, Hahaha. I didn’t pick it out, Mrs. FSB did. Two thumbs up from me. It’s a brunette with a sheer gown draped over her facing away from me. :? I’ve seen enough nudes through my Art classes, and models behind the catwalk to know this is a good one unlike an illustration. Even Grandma and the mother-in-law would like it. It’s on my side of the bed so we simply call her “Girlfriend”. Gee, my wife has good taste.

I’m getting up to have breakfast at the kitchen table. I’m not allowed to have breakfast in bed or a midnight snack anymore since I helped Mrs. FSB renovate the place.

That’ll be a lesson I won’t forget, and I thought I might pass it on to any of those who get roped into the same. Us fellas have to stick together,

My new motto: “Mess a room, save a snack!” :P

I suppose you could try to smuggle a midnight snack in your toque hat. :P

What a great idea, Paul. You might have sumpin’ there.

Remember that book “Cat in the Hat”?

We could capitalize on that theme with
“Snack in a Toque”. :P

Checking email and social media stuff. I'll have to go to the store later. I think the weather is a washout to go for a walk.
