Thank you, Paul. He had a very bad reaction to a new medicine. They gave him 3 medicines via IV and he started feeling much better. He was discharged after about 5 hours.

That’s a tough situation that I hope will give you both relief now that you are home, Marky,

Thank you, Gary. I got a good night's sleep and feel pretty good.

I'm going to get in some Strat time now. It's been about a week. Plus, I haven't used my new pedal board much at all. Time to spank that plank and make some serious noise!!!

I have to do some errands pretty soon. I may or may not go for a walk later.

Got to do some more errands and other stuff going out. It's supposed to be bad weather tonight, so a walk is probably out.

I hope that new toy doesn’t require pedal pushers.

 I remember my sister wore those back in the day. Oddly enough, Pedal Pusher was my CB radio handle.

That’s pretty ironic. Looks like you’re good to go with a name like that. Just don’t let ‘em call you Pusher. Ya never know who will turn up.

Sorry to hear you’re bored, Marky. Maybe you should take up a hobby.

I’m just wading in domestic paperwork. Meanwhile, I’m trying to find time to research some things that I might look for on Black Friday. It’s a day that helped me score some great savings with mics and cables and whatnots in the past. Not that I shop silly nilly, although I can get bit at times; however, if I have a list of things that I want or need Black Friday, amongst the typical sale prices, has some pretty good offerings. In the past BF helped to score most of my mics, cables and what not with great savings. That was in the day when the Canadian dollar exchange was $1.25 American. Today it artificially hovers around $0.75 on the average. :? That’s a whopping 50 cents difference!

Whether Black Friday will treat me nice or not, I don’t know if I’ll be ready for it unless it rings my bell and makes an announcement that gets my attention.

There’s always Santa.

Factoid 1: Just when you think you’ve made a great deal there’s usually a better one just around the corner.

Factoid 2: You’ll often see great deals after they’ve expired.

Factoid 3: Great deals are most often on the thing you don’t want and not on the thing you do want.

Looked at laptops at the local store. Nothing spectacular to speak of. No disc drives, fewer connections, more multi tasking outlets, shiny screens for the sunny outdoors, little or no user replaceable batteries with each giving you, for the most part, less (especially minimum/maximum capability over length of ownership) operating time per se, yada yada.

Nothing terrible, but kinda bleh.

A side by side demo showed me hard drives are definitely not able to keep up with SSDs, and even 8GB memory can be good with SSD as opposed to 8 or even, in some cases, 12GB with hard drives. Reliability is a bonus. 8)
Buying an Apple laptop is nice, until replacement time. It doesn’t take long until one realizes, as prices increase, you can pretty much throw in a third windows laptop by the time you buy two equivalent Apples.

A wonderful demonstration of less is more. Buying a bare bones computer lacking included useful programs and other apps is a far cry from yesteryear. As for Windows 10, not sure if I like it or not on a small screen, being a necessary evil and all.

After about 40 years hands on and formally trained, I’m better than average at computers (I’ve pretty much built them), used dedicated proprietary hardware/software, Windows, Apple (masOS and iOS), and Android, played and collected DOS and sophisticated Windows games like Doom, NASCAR, and newer thought provoking challenges in the past. I even got to play one of a few limited copies of Tetris before it was released to the public, and I was short listed at a distance for work at Electronic Arts; but, I eventually turned to other computing interests once I got my fill of hopping forward and back, vertical and lateral push pull movement, etc. YMMV; but, where did this easy life with computers go? Remember Vista? Wasn’t that an argument for a waste of resources? How did we rectify that? With even more this or that? Like I need a video display with Google on my fridge or a laughing monkey I’ll never use. Seriously? Still, I know when my tomato is mouldy or I run out of cold beer without requiring a video display to manage. Who’s responsible for all the fluff and management? I’d like to delete him and the continuing telemarketer and crank calls maxing out my phones’ caller lists. Now where’s that button? The laptop hunt goes on. I know it’s out there somewhere. I wonder if one standard will ever come to fruition? I doubt it. Unless Google or Amazon gets their way.
