It's raining all day, so no walk for me. I'll be watching films and putting in some bass time.

I just finished getting the dog's dinner squared up. Now I guess it's time for our dinner.

Brushing up on new pillows. Talk about a challenge. Hmm? Maybe, I could improve the Asian block of wood by covering it in cotton balls and a latex ballon.

Aw, fuggedabout it.

My pillow will have to do for the moment.
Good Night,

The weather seems to be good today, so I think I'll go for a walk, and do some shopping.

Although thankful to have it, we inherited antique or older contemporary furnishings. Some very nice stuff, some not. To say our home in many, but not all, ways is eclectic would be an understatement. Age is my enemy so the bucket list needs a little attention sooner than later.

HVAC is one of those haveta dos and it will be done tomorrow. Like most people are presented with, there will always be haveta dos; however, for us
the list is rapidly being shortened from a lot of time management, expense that comes from home ownership, and diligence over the years. That now opens a door to wanta dos, so it’s out with the old (except me), and in with the new. :D
Living room and two bedrooms get a makeover. Might be the time to change the paint before I give that job up to the pros, A new platform bed and beside it new large art (painting) on the wall. Throughout we’ll use the minimalist approach with modern furniture, improving, but not refinishing, damaged hard wood floors, replacing a rug, and so on. I mention this because the guest bedroom is now a packed storage room. We added stuff from the basement storage, and the small bedroom presently has it’s own seldom used (but still a requirement) dismantled bed ready to toss. Taking up floor space is a 60s provincial bedroom suite, older 30s furniture from the mostly emptied Master bedroom, collectables, and junk to recycle, etc. TV will vacate the LR. A man chair, when found, will replace the flat screen, allowing more music to be heard in that environment. When the packed guest room is cleared of storage, the emptied space will be converted into a multi purpose entertainment room. Yesterday, we discovered and now are thinking of a short Murphy type TV cabinet with a hidden bed that doesn’t compromise living comfort. :P
Modernization does have it’s benefits; although, as I have experienced, things of yesteryear have a welcomed character of their own. Actually, a lot of old is new again. Sort of like old and new guitars. Both wonderful IMHO.

I embrace form and function, and I majored in art, although my long lost sculptures and art won’t be found amongst the Gris’, Picasso’s, or Giacometti’s. Mid century is trending in this home with a sprinkle of classic modern and older complimenting accessories. Lots of fun, but lots of methodical work too. It has to do with planning the entire picture as opposed to just adding and removing strokes and dabs ‘cause I gotta have it now rather than later. :wink Sometimes, there will be a stumble on that elusive item and if opportunity knocks that will be welcomed luck. For me these discoveries are often on our search list over time, not so much willy nilly. Once in awhile a newly discovered gem is a no brainer, but that is rare for me. The Internet helps even with local retail or networks locating one’s needs and pricing. Buyer beware though. Copies can work except when they don’t. It all looks good on camera or a web page. That’s where research and homework kicks in. Comments and recommendations should be scrutinized. I tend to gravitate towards the lower rated comments for comparison. I don’t know about you, but even Consumers’ recommendations have failed my purchases on the odd occasion. Oh, and those other similar sites may have special interest or payments to influence the ratings. We all pride ourselves in our decisions (warranted or not at times).

Designing doesn’t have to break the bank neither. Ask me. I had sets with both big and small budgets. I’ve seen big money wasted and limited funds with great results. There are so many places to find a reasonable deal on accessories such. Unlike some I’ve paid more for, we scored a beautiful large painting for less than $100. It could demand more, and it is not one of those commercial illustrations so often seen, although they have their place too.

There’s a good chance a small amp may find it’s way to the upstairs multi purpose room later.
Now if I could keep my office clean, that would really be sumpin’.
No matter your style or none at all. Why golly gee. My home has been a boat’s bunk with a photo on a locker and a toque on a shelf. There’s no place like home. Enjoy. :D

Checking email and social media stuff. I have to do some domestic crap around the house, and I don't know what else is going on yet.

Just got home from a busy afternoon. Time for some dinner and TV.

Gary - what you're planning for your house sounds really nice. I wish I were physically able to do the things that you can do. It's nice to keep busy doing constructive things. Have fun!

Thank you, Marky. Appreciated. I hear you my friend and, yes, I am fortunate, more so than many members here, that I can still do many things; but, my limits of the past year and a half are telling me that, like Elvis said, “It’s now or never.”

I’m in awe of the process though. My father-in-law once broke a toilet by tightening a seat. It cost him a whole new bathroom as he had to pay repentance or feel the wrath of the family. Later he called the crapper his million dollar toilet.
This month I decided it was time to spring for a new mattress. That led to a new bed, frame and headboard which clashes with grandmother’s antique bedroom suite. This led to dismantling a second old bed for guests in the next room. Out it goes too. Now we have room to store Grandma’s bedroom suite with the bedroom suite for the guest room. Well, that won’t work for long. Which set to kiss goodbye? Do we really need a second bed that seldom gets used? Nope. ‘Tis the time to say so long been nice to know ya to the works. Now we have two rooms to renovate, all because of one new mattress. Buy one major thing and you’ll likely have to accessorize.

Kinda like guitars and amps, huh?

You know what they say, “Happy wife, happy life”. Shopping and fixing up the home or yard is a sure thing. :P
Getting to exercise one’s GAS is a side benefit. It’s on my bucket list.

I'm checking my email and social media stuff. I'm not sure what I'll be doing later, yet. Maybe watch some horror movies for Halloween and put in some bass time. I don't think I'll be going out for a walk, because the weather has been too crappy lately. To be honest, I wish I was doing some sort of gig for Halloween. I've never gotten to do that in all of the 31 years I've been playing bass, and always wanted to. It just never worked out that way.

I'm obviously on here, watching the football game, and waiting for more trick or treaters to come by. It's my turn to answer the next, and it's about 8:40. So far, we've only had 7 kids total come to the door, in almost an hour. Image

Checking email and forum stuff. I'm planning on going for a walk later. It's actually been quite awhile since I've been able to, because the weather has been kind of bad.
