Well I'm sure glad you have all of your fingers still attached, Gary!

Hope that worked out for you. It’s always an adventure to discover those unknown annoyances, and great when and if a solution is found. but at least its nice to have access to the internet/youtube.You betcha. I also looked at the apps that the newer Samsung TVs have, and they’re really packed so there looks to be plenty to satisfy, and I found my Amazon Prime (and similar) will connect wirelessly with their app. Very cool. Looks like you got a great grab sfceric64.
I got it worked out! My AV receiver has some advanced features and the TV remote only learns the basic features. So when I used the AV remote it would send a signal to the tv it didn't understand. The fix, was to disconnect the HDMI-ARC from the AV to the TV and connect the audio signal via fiber optic. I loose the basic functions on the TV remote for the AV receiver but I gain back all the AV receiver functions. The only drawback noted so far w/ fiber optic, a very short delay when changing between audio signal formats.

Checking email and forum stuff. I'm hoping to be able to go for a walk later, since I haven't in a couple of days. I don't think we're supposed to get any rain until Monday, so at least I don't have to worry about that.

Thanks, for the good vibes on my digits, Marky and sfceric64. I didn’t mean to sound like a wuss. I only used one expletive, and I expected one of those hurts less now/stay awake all night painful episodes., Got through that pretty good. My concern was that I already have three problematic fingers on that hand. The mistake didn’t help in that dept.

As for Mrs. FSB’s judgment, Marky. She picked me, and the wrong football team,

Glad you got it up and running, sfceric64. I wonder how many remember when everything hooked up was compatible, My receiver has legacy analog and digital duplication that gives a choice or no choice. My 70s Marantz receiver had accessory slots for promised things that were never introduced to the public as new technology made those connections obsolete.
Speaking of trips, I’m planning a day trip to the coast, but flights are ridiculous. We have few choices here in the middle of the continent. Times and prices are crazy. 2 1/2 hours non stop there, but with stops and plane changes up to 15 hours coming back. :?
2 airlines to choose from. Prices about the same, one has better times, but less flights. The other has more flights but terrible flight times. The peanuts, juices, and cabin air are comparable. Thankfully, the airport and plane experience is delightful. Personally, I like those blustery winter flights with the abominable snowman on the wing.
On the other hand, anytime you take off and land safely is a good flight.

I might go for a walk in a while, and it looks like weather wise, it's time to break out the toque hats. :P I know I do have to go the store and pick up some things.

OK, I'm conflicted about where to post this, maybe I'll post something a little different in the new Tonemaster sub-forum.
Went to my favorite Mom & Pop music store today to check out a Tonemaster Deluxe Reverb. Being the capitalist pig I am, I prefer to give them my business as opposed to GC, SA, or SW.

Gonna go back and catch up on the previous posts about FSB's fingers, and what's up with sfceric64, but for now, that's what I did today.

I hear the Tonemaster is an excellent amp but too expensive for me. :( I'm going to run an errand and go to McDonald's. :)

I don’t know about you, Paul but I find all sorts of things to do with toques.

1) You can keep your noggin warm, and your ears.
2) You can keep your eyebrows from frosting up.
3) You can hide stuff under your toque.
4) You can save the environment from plastic bags if the goods are small enough to carry with your toque on or off.
5) On a hot day you can wipe your forehead.
6) When jackets don’t zip up all the way to the top, you can stuff a toque in the open space to prevent colds.
7) You can wipe your glasses or windshield.
8 ) You can toss keys and a wallet in it so you don’t forget where they are. Great for unfamiliar hotel rooms,
9) You can have tips thrown in for that great street performance.
10) You can warm your hands and feet.
11) Put it in your back pocket to warm half of yer butt.
12) With a brightly coloured one you can flag down a cab
13) You can be mistaken for the guy who robbed the doughnut shop.
14) You can be mistaken for the Swat Squad who arrested the guy with evidence of the jam buster smeared on his face. The guys in the squad have evidence in their hands too,
15) You can have swag like the musician or the football player on the sidelines by the heater.
16) You can play lumberjack or fisherman.
17) You can jog or skip rope like a boxer.
18) You can drink a beer, eh? If yer old enough. No hosers allowed.
19) You can have an honorary Canadian membership which permits you to say, “Eh, and pass the beer hoser. Not that one! The Canadian one, eh?”
20) Good for sleeping in bright light.

And, drum roll please . . . You can pull it down over your face and leave the world behind while you think up other ways to use that legendary toque. :P

You can also use one for Yorick. If he won’t wear it, you can always use the toque to polish his skull.

I scored this week’s limited day return flight to the west coast. Mid week I have to be up at 4am, arriving at the airport at 5am. With one plane change halfway I’ll arrive at my destination 7 hours after starting out, with an additional 3.5 hours to kill before a brief family service in the afternoon. I’ll be flying back after the service 5 hours later.

No meals are provided for single flights under 4 hours in the air. Okey dokey. Makes sense. One flight lasting 4 hours gets a meal. 2 combined flights lasting more than 4 doesn’t!? Same price. That’s a good plan for the airlines, huh? Prepaid meals on the plane passed out midway through the flight is also a little known good plan (for them) hoping passengers are too weary or closer to getting fed upon landing. No problem as I’ll have opportunity to try that great Airport food.

Usually a 2.5 hr flight, but this time the flight out is 3.5 hrs. Not terrible. The other 3.5 hrs. is check in, security, boarding, and downtime. Security will likely be fun on such a short return flight with no luggage. I’m one of those random checks that always seems to arise. When I arrive, I have to kill off another 3.5 hours prolly with more nummies and suckies. Guess I’ll need to recharge my Smartphone.

Coming back is better. Had I not gotten a 2.5 hour straight through flight to return home by midnight, I would have suffered that 11 to 15 hours in down time and flying with peanuts in hand. Phew! Lucked out there. Lucked out to even get a flight at all from this central prairie town. Sometimes, I think this once 4th largest city in Canada is now a one horse town. :? 11 hours is how long it took me to fly from Vancouver Island to Halifax (3,365 miles coast to coast) with a few hours stop in Toronto! More than twice as far and for not much more in fares! :?:
The one other monopolized airline had two choices neither were good. Add the fact that the airlines I’m flying with uses Boeing 737s pretty much exclusively, and the company just changed owners recently. Once their grounded 737 Max fleet hits the skies flying, scheduling should be a treat (sic).
Sometimes, you get lucky. Good thing I booked when I did.

Flying is not what it used to be unless you are fairly new at it or travel less.

Me? I’m older and a seasoned traveler with a history of traveling light or heavy with the Mrs., and at distances under a variety of conditions. I know others here are too. :D

That’s what I’m doing.

Crazy, huh?

I have a lazy day planned. Just a few minor chores and some Strat time, of course.

I'm glad you got your flight straightened out, Gary. Here's a little something that may give you a smile:
