Getting ready to call it a day.

Good thing you have a sturdy gate latch, Gary. It was probably some punk kids.

I had a slow leak in my truck tire repaired, an oil change and a check up. All is good for my trip to California in a couple weeks.

Thanks, Marky. I agree. It doesn’t matter what neighbourhood you live in, these kids want everything without working for it. They out number the cops, and the justice system can’t or won’t handle them. Rebel media gives them a false set of values and the problem is growing. These kids are becoming more aggressive too. I was a James Dean, Brando, and Fonda fan, and West Side Story is still a fave; but, aside from my greased hair, JD and leather jackets, t-shirt, rolled up jeans, and my motorcycle boots, I took my anger to Friday nights in the ring. I could take it (and boy did I take it) and give it, but I knew the difference between a script and respect which is what these losers want but don’t have a clue on where it comes from. Cool they ain’t. It takes a childish disturbed attitude to be a punk, and self respect and work to be a man.

Fortunately, most of these morons are half wits, and they usually get caught from their stupidity and by making mistakes. I’ll try to hand them a mistake.
I’m thinking of one or two hunting cameras from Cabela’s not far from here, and a “smile you’re on candid camera sign” to even the odds. If I do go that route, can’t say for sure, there might be new revealing photos on a webpage.

Meanwhile, it’s chocolate and cherry ice cream bar time. :P

I think cameras are a great idea. I have them but I didn't put them in plain sight and no warning sign. Being raised in Chicago, we have our own system of justice. :x

I hear ya, Marky. On the ship we certainly took care of matters too, part of the job, but we were supported by those with authority in those cases, usually passing a peace pipe first, but refusal was ugly.

Kinda different on dry land up here. My big concern is my wife’s safety now and in the future. My age and health works against me, but even earlier on I noticed a change with not only violent craziness and wired opponents, but one has to consider the odds of disease too, The game has changed. The best we can do is outsmart them and, although difficult, it is doable unless they’re pros of which there are few.

The beauty of hunting cameras is they can’t be hacked and are specific for the job, but they can be more inconvenient and can be costly. I have a 40 foot evergreen that will help and some great bushes. I need to research pricing and features though.

If that fails I’ll import a Komodo dragon.

I went for a walk, went to the grocery to get a few things, and now I'm doing laundry.

Well hopefully those rascals won't return. Your sturdy latch defeated them once so they'll go elsewhere now for easier pickins.

You just might be able to leash a rattler but you have to be very fast and you only get one chance at it.

Recovering from the dentist visit on Friday. Three problems gone the old fashioned way. Getting tired of the salt water flushes and the soft food only routine. Only cost me 1/3 of what they pre-stated which was a great relief as when I woke up on Fiday the 15yo Plasma shat the bed...I'll miss that great TV. Had to go get a "smart tv" damnit.
Went w/ a cheaper Samsung 7100, that so far has meet or exceeded expectations w/ only one issue. It uses ARC and when connected w/ my AV reciever I somehow loose my radio tuner function. Gotta figure that out for sure, but at least its nice to have access to the internet/youtube.

Later on, I'm planning on going for a long walk, then I'm going to watch some videos or a film or two, and put in some bass time.

Going to the dentist is never fun but I'm glad it's behind you. Plus, a 2/3rd savings is a very nice surprise.

Sorry about your plasma TV. I have three smart TV's and one is a first generation. I think that one is actually pretty dumb. :) When watching YT videos on it, it freezes after about ten minutes and we have to shut it off and turn it back on. Otherwise, it's ok and the other ones are fine.

Good luck figuring out your new smart TV. They are pretty cool. Have fun!

After I finish here in the Forums, it's Strat time! 8)

Glad you’re on the.the mend. Dentists are a pain  However, they sure are better than when the belt slipped on the drill and the needle was thick like a Watusi spear.

Smart TVs have some cool features; but, I don’t buy TVs for that purpose primarily. I have several smarty pants TVs - some new and some older. They don’t always present the works promoted. Maybe, there are country restrictions, begged, borrowed, or stolen sites, or the TV manufacturer eventually drops features when company contracts run out or new ones are made. Often the service goes kaput like the TV Guide listings here and others there. Podcasts and such or programming have a habit of not being updated. Technology changes (like losing the older and getting the YouTube updated version bringing incompatibility and total loss of YT to my Sony). Gotta love things like cable companies or other media box/hookup restrictions and, like pointed out, we inherit a slew of Home Entertainment incompatabilities from decoding to physical connections. Throw in some missing feature remotes (universal or not). Still, some features, short term or not can be welcomed (or missed).

Right now, with my laptop considerations (taking my time unless the right one presents itself), I am researching how I will unite my computing with a future Smart TV. Hopefully, I can go wireless, but with 4 or 5 TVs I doubt it. No biggie. With all this wireless we’ll soon be a bunch of glow worms. My TVs are all interlinked with PVRs and a gateway which helps to follow media seamlessly upstairs and downstairs.

Will the TV or computer be the first one to become obsolete? My bet it will be either. I will likely have to add one more media box or, perhaps, not.

With an unlimited supply of apps and a plethora of media still available I lost TV on a screen. My Media PC has a TV tuner for PIP which got axed by the cable decoding changes. I miss working with it in my little corner of the world. In fact, I would take PIP over apps any day so I can watch two programs such as sports, elections, or other events and maybe a preview of channels. A PC, Mac, XBox, PlayStation, or other App/Internet featured input to the TV could fill the void need be, Not to say marketed Smart TV apps aren’t handy, cheaper, or convenient. YMMV

Are there smart TVs? Yeah, smart for them. Reminds me of cool entertainment markups in a lesser compact car, or mediocre entertainment in a luxury car. Sometimes, not smart for us methinks. Phtt!

Wow! Look at that 8K Rez TV. Very cool. I like it. It’s got apps too. Yeah, I know we’ll be charged for apps in the future. What? No 3D? I’ll have to wait another century for that? What about the new Apple, Google, or Amazon TV amongst others’ rumours? Whatta ya mean another TV station has closed and now the networks are rethinking? Can Big Brother TV cameras and mics be just around the corner? Maybe. Is it here now? Maybe. I’ll ask Alexis and Siri or maybe I should talk to the remote. Dang! I don’t have all of those. What’s a guy supposed to do? Watch TV? :?
Aw, fuggedabout it. Enjoy what you have. Here today gone tomorrow. Poof!
Many years ago (when I worked with commercials) I heard about a marketing tech firm that, for specific commercials, tested (in selected homes) set top boxes which printed coupons were the commercial viewed. Others used the following concept. You might enjoy this application:

Happy viewing. :D

I’d like interchangeable coloured bezels on the TVs. No bezel is cool too.

Thanks for the well wishes. Got to go back next week for round two.
Its kinda funny after doing updates and customizing this and that setting, the LED screen picture is pretty decent even w/ my aging eyes.
I appreciate all the apps even though I'm completely positive I'll never pay for any extra extensions or what nots.
I have tried the you tube app to watch/listen to a few hours of blues music and dabbled for a few minutes on the internet using the remote( a little funky, but navigates ok).
I dont think the computer or the TV will ever disappear completely, to big of a money maker. But they are definitely merging together more so in the last few years.
Those Japanese engineers, may be drinking to much Saki. Smell O Vision, really a stretch but hey whatever floats your boat!

Smell O Vision!?! Geez, what if the movie is about pig farmers? I'm having some coffee then I'll play for a while. I got in 4 hours of playing/practice yesterday! My tremor was behaving so it was a good time. 8)
