Did some serious shopping today and walked around a few shops. Got a few things, as well.

I'm going to go for a long walk, then watch a film, and put in some bass time later.

Getting my gear together to load the truck for today's Summer Concert Series
gig down in Stoughton. Weather is perfect for it. On the road again....

Have a great gig and most of all have a great time, Mike. :D

——————————————————

Woke up to news of the recent tragedy in Dayton, Ohio adding to El Paso, Gilroy, and others. Cities and townships here have experienced similar, but this is something different. I’m bummed out. :(
My sadness and condolences go out to my brothers and sisters south of us, and I wish for better times ahead for all.

The following is just one man’s take. Why? Because something has to change, and answers are hard to find. It’s not enough to say this is the way things have always been. It hasn’t worked, and I doubt it ever will by taking the same path of destruction. How can the problem be fixed if the root cause is not identified? We treat the symptom, and we need to diagnose the main cause of the problem so the healing can begin, This is my contribution and no one is judged to be better or worse than any other in the following. I hope it will be taken for a positive view as intended.

Rhetoric, politics, special interest, chosen religious identity confused with nationality (usually to expand their collective chosen belief rather than their position and nation’s identity on the world stage as others are), using ancestry to set an advantage over another or to make claims of days gone by (I might have a castle to pay taxes on or be asked to pay retribution to another for my or others’ ancient relatives’ abuse and ill founded decisions), defining individuals by language (some countries wrongly or right have multiple official languages, I like Pig Latin and Klingonese, and babies the world over speak the same), not recognizing colour is found worldwide, and know and accept the difference between racial motivation, hate, and unrelated in a given location or situation (for example, amongst one billion Chinese or Indian and one foreigner it would be questionable would it not?), knowing that countries have imaginary man made borders that have changed and will continue to change (We only came from here or there by chance, colour and/or history aside), culture including adoption of other cultures from times long ago to today, and all that which has been tried, talked about, and failed before holds the key to the door which may lead to the answer or, with the door shut, prevent it.

Everyone has a history including criminal and moral wrongdoings. Time to move on to make the present a better history for the future It is said, “There are none so blind as those who will not see.” I think it is also, “There are none so deaf as those who will not hear.” Sometimes, as with any business, it needs an outside look or there is a risk of repeating history.

Were I to make a change, wherever and whenever, I’d first rid the world (including my own country) of labels, and just call mankind “people” or something to that effect. Dude or earthling will work. Isn’t there something that says,

“We the people . . . ”?

It does not say we the whites, blacks, browns, English, Africans, Mexicans, Indigenous, Asian, Germans, Jews, Protestants, Catholics, Muslims, Liberal, Conservative, Straight, LGBT, or any other similar label one chooses to flaunt. Gouverneur Morris was ahead of his time when that phrase was written. IMHO

Be proud of the good in your heritage, and be aware that there is the other side in everyone’s ancestry. Best to not abuse the privilege methinks.

One could say groups can be like jigsaw puzzles. They look good when they are together as one piece. When divided all over the table, they are a mess. :? Time to get it together.

What about changing the group divisions, and giving everyone equally opportunity for attention. Isn’t that a threat to the political voting system of today? Yep! Big talk by idealists have seen world government as the answer. They should try the local approach first before they take on that impossible challenge.

Make them all wear the same toque.

That’s a start. :D

Of course, greed plays a part and no change will come without the peoples’ (see how I did that?) will.

A fire always starts with a spark. As Smokey says . . . only you can prevent fires.

Nuff said.
FSB

On the lighter side everyone can be Irish on St. Patrick’s day.
Peace!

I'm not sure if I'm going for a walk or not, but I do need to stop by the grocery store.

I flushed the domestic crap away yesterday, Paul and, unless surprises pop up, I’m ready to take in the day for fun. :P
Right now, with low temperatures dropping to mid 50s (low teens in centigrade), I’m thinking how Summer is becoming shorter. I hope Fall will stick around longer this year. I like Fall. 8)

I'm about to put in some Strat time! First time in five or six days so I'm going through withdrawal. Gotta fix that. :)

It might rain today, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to go for a walk, or not. Maybe walk around the shops, at least.

That sounds pretty good, actually. 8) You know, there's a couple of summer things I haven't had this year. Watermelon, corn on the cob, and around here, lobster, or lobster rolls. That's a total New England tradition, with the lobster rolls. I don't know about the rest of the country, or anywhere else.

I don’t know if they are the same or similar; but, Mmmmm.

When I was a kid, so long ago ... How long ago? I’ll tell ya. In ‘62 in my Nova Scotia hometown a burger was 40 cents, but a lobster burger was 25 cents. Boy! Do I miss that.

Missing pink grapefruit too since the Doc isn’t cooperating. Phht! How could he do that to a guy who used to bring Squirt from the U.S. to this side of the border back in the day before we had choices.

That looks like the ones that are typically around here. Who knows, maybe someone from there migrated down here and started the whole thing? Hawaiian Pizza is from Canada, originally. Which I suppose makes sense, since it's probably as originally Hawaiian as Russian Dressing is actually Russian. :P It's not, by the way. I've never seen or heard of my grandparents ever concocting that, but I suppose it's one of those things in name only. French Dressing? Thousand Island? Where in the hell is the Thousand Island, anyway? :P

25 cents? Wow, I could have actually gotten something with one of those damned Canadian quarters I got stuck with when I got change back a long time ago. :P I have a couple of those, with a dime or two, and maybe even a couple of pennies. Didn't you all quit circulating pennies, though? I thought I read about that somewhere, but I'm not sure.
