Meanwhile, I intended to put out some change and take a bit of a drive for concrete paint that I’d have to match, plus pick up some rollers and brushes. Looking for something else this morning I discovered some of everything tucked away for a couple of years, and I had just enough to complete the job plus just enough of some other paint to touch up the wrought iron railings. Don’t ya just love it when these things present themselves and save you cash when you least expect it. I do.

It's great when things work out like that and nice to save some money. I'm really happy to read about much you're able to do compared to this time last year. :)
Hey, thanks Marky. Having a yard is like having a boat. They both come with a bottomless money pit. Many newer homes here have little yard to maintain for those who prefer less maintenance, and others are using gravel or concrete to landscape in a fashion that is seen to be more prevalent south of us. So yes, saving money is always good, because the pit will always have hunger to swallow leftovers. Actually, location (and severe seasonal weather) as you well know, has a lot to do with annual repairs and upkeep.
I’m glad to be able to catch up on things, and it’s great to relieve Mrs. FSB from some of the appreciated work she did for me last year; although, often when my back is turned, she still pushes me aside by starting odd jobs to lend a hand. Plus, I’ve gotten another kick at the can to get some things done that were and are on my to do list for future consideration.

I am thankfully delighted to be physically able to do a lot more than last year. Far better breathing is my biggest notice of change, but the remedy came with unexpected effects. A new normal is mostly knowing my limitations and working smart so just being here puts a smile on my face, and I’m doing fine for an old dude. Mrs. FSB sees to that. :D

I needed two 20 lb. propane tank refills this past week. I was surprised to be introduced to an automated way of getting this. I was greeted by outdoor lockers and beside them was a digital display and an ATM like setup. After calling a live person and clarifying the operation, I followed keypad and loud prerecorded audible prompts, I then entered my credit card and number. One of the several locked doors popped open, took my empty tank as I put it in, and closed the door. With the doors automatically locked some mechanical (turntable) commotion is heard from the locker. Another door pops open and presents me with a newly filled propane tank which I remove, and a receipt rolls out of a slot. To get more tanks you repeat the whole process. Next thing you know a drone will drop one off in the yard.

That automated thing is pretty cool, I think. 8) Sure beats having to deal with going into the store, where you can no longer bring your empty with you, and getting someone to get the keys to open the cage to get another tank, or at least that's what happened the last time I've gotten propane. It's been a few years since we've had a gas grill, unfortunately.

That's a pretty cool propane refill setup. You probably know that Amazon has started delivering packages, in a few test areas, via drones. The advances that we have seen in our life times are incredible, for the most part. AI concerns me a bit but I hope for the best.

I'm going to have some coffee and study up on A/V recording. Then it will be Strat time. 8)

It is pretty neat, Paul and Marky. Winnipeg is a testing ground for all sorts of things. Although, the city is sometimes first, it isn’t always the case, but we’ll often be included, and this AI is likely elsewhere.

I agree with the frustration of having to go through hoops to get a refill the standard way like you mentioned, Paul. That’s pretty much the same here. I think this is also to assure the person refilling is qualified, it prevents up selling a new tank when not necessary. It assures that you have to have a properly working valve and won’t be able to do otherwise, and propane refilling stations are not always conveniently located such as in my case where some prefer to not have their tanks stored out in the open. These tanks and valves/taps, although likely rebuilt, were like new and not rusted or worn. The last time I got a refill new filled tanks were $65 taxes in, $11 just for a refill, and I don’t recall a trade in price. This time I got two filled trade ins for $52, so I’ll have to do some math and check around for prices. It may be convenient, and that’s about it. For me it certainly is because this was 3 blocks away from home and the best part is it’s open 24/7 including holidays. No guessing if you’ll get a tank unless it gets busy. I think this idea is sensible, and, since it isn’t really replacing a full time or part time job, thumbs up on this automation.

I prefer to keep people working, and I still go to cashiers before automated checkout because employee taxes pay to keep the infrastructure going and they keep from tacking more taxes on to me, and I’m waiting to see if you get a break in the cost of goods when doing your own checkout and maybe bagging. I haven’t seen that. I do know the next step is and has been scanning your goods on the shelves or hanger with auto payment from your phone so there won’t be any contact with the store otherwise, and you won’t get paid for the work or sharing data, and good luck on a reduction in prices. I’m betting the opposite is in the wings. Oh, and if you are thinking you’ll get out of the store quicker. Try scanning the coffee or cornflakes when somebody is in your way doing the same thing, and make sure your battery is charged. Phht!

Now that’s AI convenience without service, Where’s the whojockamacpivot, and pass me another heavy water bottle to carry? :?

Went to couple of stores today, but no walk. The music video is finished, though.

Nice! Congrats, Paul.

No plans or appointments today! Music and R&R is the only thing I want to accomplish. 8)

That’s great. Sounds like a good reason to have a wrap party, Paul. :D
Best,
FSB

I might hookup some PA and vocal pedal stuff today. I’m using a 150 watt class A Denon Amp and some 150 watt discounted German speakers which I replaced In my HT system. Everything was hooked up before in this fashion, and it did a fine job for in house. Prolly not live stage material, but they are amazing, plenty loud enough with quality for the family room, and the setup saves space. We’re not talking a Stone’s performance here.
The pedal is a TCH VoiceLive Play GTX. It’s not perfect, but does a pretty good job for what it is. It certainly helps with the acoustic and has enough usable effects for the Strat or other electric. With 500 adjustable presets amongst vocal and instrument choices, there’s always something to like. I prefer to harmonize the old fashion way for recording, but digital help works when you are going solo live. Vocal effects can be a little redundant, but again useful if not overused. It also has a decent built in looper, but I find approximately 1 minute recording to be shorter than I desire; however, I haven’t taken time to master it. Just another thing to add to the bucket list. :)

Thanks. I had nothing to do with any of the music, or was in the video, but I was glad to help out in filming it. It came out really great, too. 8)

I'm going on an errand or two, and hopefully be able to get a walk in, since I didn't yesterday, and it's supposed to rain tomorrow.

My girl (Heidi my German Shepherd) woke me up at 5:30 so I've caught up on my emails and computer stuff, read for a while and now it's Strat time. My favorite time of day. 8)

It's supposed to rain, so it looks like I won't go for a walk, but I'll watch some films, and put in some bass time.

I just finished moving some stands around in the room, I play the bass in. The heavy plastic tool boxes / stools were rattling. I found another heavy tool case that works as a stand to perch the Hartke on. The noise was from under the amp. ALL BETTER NOW!!! Image

Well done, Glenn!

I just finished some yard work and I think I'm ready for my first nap. :)

Congrats, on fighting that annoyance, Glenn. Reminds me of past days searching for that rattle or lost screw in my old ‘64 Parisienne dash panel. Finding and fixing those things successfully is sweet satisfaction. :D

Not finding, or worse $&@*#%* finding it and not being able to remedy the PITA is grinding stress. Phht!
