I’m happy it all worked out for you, Marky. That install was pretty slick. How lucky is that in this day and age? Good job,

You get a star for capping the camera. Unfortunately, I’ve succumbed to the camera for facial recognition on the phone. I like to live on the edge, and I have sympathy for anyone who hacks a look at my mug.

Thanks, FSB.

I'm looking forward to a fun Friday. I woke up feeling really good and full of energy. :D

I'm going to put down a bass track today (or at least I think today,) and I'm planning on trying to record with my Ampeg PF-800 head, since from what I understand, you don't need to have it plugged into a cab to run it, so I could use it as a preamp/DI kind of thing. I want to try it, at least. If it doesn't work out, I still have the MXR bass preamp pedal to use, but it would be nice to get that Ampeg tone in there.

I hope the Ampeg worked out for you, Paul. I can see where it would be great to have that option. But, hey! I know it’ll sound good all the same.

I wound up just using the MXR bass preamp, since it would have been kind of a hassle, due to small space, and the size of the amp, to use the Ampeg. The way things are situated right now, you're dealing with limited space to even put it anyway to setup to record. In other words, it's kind of a clusterf**k situation. :P Another issue is there was some sort of an issue with the recording PC, which wasn't good, but it is over 10 years old, so we had to use another PC and a lesser program. We managed to get it done, though. I guess this will be something that needs to be addressed and dealt with.

Oh yeah, another thing, my Ibanez Talman short scale bass that I mainly use was being problematic with trying to record it, and I'm having some fret buzz issue with it because the action is very low, but I did raise it as high as I could, so I don't know what the hell to do about that. So, I had to switch to my girlfriend's Ibanez CT series bass, which is a long scale, and strung with rounds, which both things I'm not used to doing, since it's been a long time, but it does have a thin neck. I got it done with that.

I'm getting ready to go to a local car show. Not a big show but there are about 100 cars registered so not real small either. I've got my power wheelchair shined up so my ride looks good too.

I might go for a walk, if there's time to do so.

We just got back from from the car show. It was a beautiful, sunny day and 82°/28°. Turns out that there were approximately 300 cars in the show. There was only one exotic car, a Lotus, and the rest were American muscle with a few wild customs thrown in. Oh yeah, and two rat rods. I took a bunch of pictures but I'll post only three that I took of my next door neighbors truck. The truck only weighs 1,800 pounds and, believe me, it flies. He stashed the battery in the chrome keg on the bed and he did all the work 100% by himself.

We have a car show most every summer weekend just around the block. Your neighbour’s tricked out truck would easily fit in, Marky, What a nice job and equally great taste without being garish as so often is done, She’s a beauty. Nice job on the photos and thanks for adding them. 8)
What am I doing? Shaking my head at why I would have a cellphone with a combined power and audio input jack that requires me to drop $50 CDN for a small proprietary connection cable to do both jobs at once (not the greatest setup for instrument mobile interfacing). $50 is not out of the question, even for a grumpy old man, but $100 for two need be is questionable.

Maybe, the answer to the Big A’s lineup technical change is more than meets the eye and from what I hear. :? Maybe, it was too expensive for those fine fellows of the overhyped to leave alone as a necessity. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. For them. What’s next? A fruit watch without time and a wrist band? As for it’s future I wish the company, well. Yeah, like that’s gonna change.
What’s the current trend? “What do we want?” “Everything!” “When do we want it?” “We want it now”. This everything approach has ir’s good points and bad to be sure. The way things are going, one better get it now because everything is being trimmed down to the basics with just enough tinsel to fill the void.

Apparently, well known online retailing offers home security cameras and an electronic door locking system that will permit an empty home to be entered to leave a delivery. Too bad so many products don’t deliver. :P
Looking forward to the reported coming Choeing.

I'm glad you liked the pictures, FSB. It was nice to get out on such a beautiful day and it's always fun to check out cool cars.

I never had an Apple device so I'm not familiar with how they work but, from what you said, it seems odd that it only has one jack.

What is Choeing?

That's pretty cool. 8) That would make a cool finish for a bass or guitar, I think, as well.

Yup! The new iPhone Xs are an either or situation. Either you plug in for power or plug in in for earpods/hdst. The alternative is the optional paired cabling which is poor design concept to begin with IMHO or Apple promoted over priced wireless earpods. Having lost a heavy cellphone user brother to brain cancer, and with controversy over the individual RF testing results blah blah, as an occasional but limited wireless headphone user and a proponent of speaker phone calls, I can’t say if cellphones and/or respective wireless gear has or hasn’t got the attention or research to verify or dispute the odds that there is a related problem. Let’s just say, with so many different phones and manufacturers involved, I and others are on the fence as more cancer of the head becomes known overtime, and it does have a time factor amongst other things so YMMV, but I prefer to take the preventative route, and even that is not certain. I’m missing that separate wired audio jack. :?
Choeing (think Chibson = Chinese Gibson).
Boeing is heavily invested with Chinese partnerships as others, such as General Electric Aviation, are.

Some are predicting Boeing and China will compete or wheel and deal for position in the future. Hard to think, but the plane of the future may be like our future cars. More Chinese than not.

These are two of many articles that may be of interest:

Albeit progress and decisions have been made since this video, it’s still recent and somewhat relative. FYI:

As this article states Boeing is China’s largest foreign customer of aviation manufacturing. More here:

Happy flying. :D
FSB

Note: China is expected to takeover the largest market of aircraft users, and official announcements have been made that shortly after 2021 they are also to be the leader in artificial technology both in manufacturing and in usage.

Choeing, got it. Thanks for your clarification.

Let's hope Boeing steps up its game because at, $10m less per unit, China's alternative looks pretty good. Thanks for the videos.

I'm going to try and see if I can do anything to fix the fret buzzing issue on my Ibanez Talman short scale bass, then I'm going to watch some films that I've recorded and put in some bass time. It looks like rain today, so I don't think I can go for a walk.
