Fortunately, we just got a lot of rain last night, and the wind dried up everything, so we don't have to worry about any ice on the walkways, etc. It's still going to be brutally cold, with some wind, so I'm not going to be able to go out for a walk, but we'll have to drive the car to keep the battery charged up. My girlfriend has some premastered versions of the songs for the next EP that I burned on CD, so we'll listen to that in the car and see what needs anything done, if it does. It's in the final mixing phase, now. It will probably go to mastering this coming week.
Sounds great, Paul. I know the EP will too. Best.

Thanks. It was originally going to be an LP, but plans were changed. At least there's enough songs for another release down the road, etc.

I’m thinking of removing important files from the PC in advance of that long talked about my eventual move to a new laptop. I’m still holding out, but bringing my knowledge of current chips, memory, audio cards/chip installed, and whatnot up to date and hoping to stumble on a deal that meets my needs and cashing in on the next gen computer that will last with possible upgrade ability if needed. I’ve built PCs but, with the right build early on, I had no need to keep up with the latest greatest until now. As great as many new ones are some fall short (for me) when it compares to value, quality, control, and upgrades of yesteryear. I don’t get the fuzzys with technology telling me what I need instead of me gathering what I want. YMMV Funny how important specs are missing these days, or are they even considered important? I’m sure there is a laptop that will do the job if I can accept a compromise, and if I leave fussy in the recycle bin.

I just got a newsletter stating that at least one company (Softube will no longer support 32 bit Daws such as Pro Tools 10, and others), and many
plug-ins will no longer be introduced unless they are 64 bit. 32 bit existing ones may work, but 64 bit is trending. Now I’ll try to grab 64 bit versions of DAWs and EFX/plugins for the next move. Hence, keeping an eye out for a new computer that will work with new 64 bit DAWs and plugins; although, my present multimedia optimized one will have limited usage afterwards. I’m looking forward to migrating the plugins and DAWs with their finicky security hoops to cause an adventure.

Later today it’s my real maple syrup, Salish alderwood smoked sea salt, pinch of garlic salt, spiced rum (first try) (usually I use the original recipe with white rum and alderwood chips on the smoker on my BBQ) marinated filet of salmon. I learned this process from First Nation people on Vancouver Island where I’ve had salmon traditionally butterflied on alderwood horizontal/vertical skewers which are then stooked over hot smouldering smokey alderwood. With that we’ll have stuffed clam in shells, sautéed tiger shrimp, and rice or sweet potato fries. I miss the fresh seafood from dockside; but, I think this will do. :P

I'm going to watch a movie or two, and try to put in some bass time.

Well hell, I ain't playing the LP. Was under the weather Wednesday so I finished installing the pups and trying to get a decent starting setup done today. I thought it was ready for a test spin and NADA-no output. Ended up w/ the multi meter hoping to troubleshoot something easy after eyeballing it for an hour or so. No clear fault until I was checking for continuity of the output connections, hot and ground had good continuity-shitfire. Long story short, I had to pull the switch out w/ wires and troubleshoot. Ended up the ground shield had loosened and was making contact w/ the output terminal under the heat-shrink. I eventually fixed it and quit for the day, will hopefully go in easy in the morrow.

Sorry to see that you weren’t feeling well and I hope you’re doing better. Good that your problem was resolved, and maybe it’s a blessing in disguise since a loose connection would have been a PITA at the wrong time. Just think how great it will be when completed. :D

I went grocery shopping earlier, and now I'm just listening to music, and doing the internet rounds. Basically, screwing off. :P

I'm debating whether that I'm going to go for a walk, or not, since the weather isn't too bad today. If not, I do have a bunch of movies that I have recorded that I want to watch, and I'll put in some bass time. I also have some domestic crap to do around the house, as well.

I’m getting ready to play Eskimo and I’m about to brave the cold with some necessary shopping and walking. I’ve been hibernating lately as it’s been brutal outside, and I’m a little gun shy at flu season since it took it’s toll with me last year. So far so good. I’ve got enough drugs in me so I think that may be beneficial with the sickies in the mall.

Hey! Where would we be without adventures. Where’s my toque? :D

I did wind up going out for a walk, since the weather was too good (sunny, and in the 40's) not to. I think there's more crap weather coming this week, so might as well take advantage of it. I also watched three movies and put in a few hours on the violin bass.

I just forwarded an email to the authorities. It told me I’ve been split screened watching porno, that my passwords have been hacked, everything I’ve done and do is key logged, and a Facebook cookie is following my move should I contact authorities. There’s more, but that the gist.

I was given 48 hours to pay $595 USD with Bitcoins and there was a link explaining how.

Research says this scam has been around for some time, but it has developed to be more invasive. Some have been asked for several thousands of dollars and some have paid. Sometimes, the email includes a legitimate password of the recipient. Apparently, LinkedIn had passwords hacked earlier and those old passwords got out to where they were bought and sold. Now they are showing up with this and, perhaps, elsewhere. Some will have been obsolete, changed, or are currently in use.

In any case they said, if I didn’t pay, the phoney video with me in it would be handed out to relatives and co-workers, etc. Good luck. My camera is capped and facing the ceiling unless I want it, (phone cam is different), I have no porno activity, and I have no co-workers. That’s cool because the hacker had no Bitcoins from me.

So I go to the neighboring mall today and there in the doorway is a Bitcoin ATM!?

I hate scammers and avoid all the attempts, if I didn't initiate the discourse its an auto delete/close.

Well, the LP is coming along. I didn't like the 1st setup(09-42) results and re-crowned/dressed the frets, lowered the nut and sanded the neck/body binding. While working on it, she took her first hit and I took a 1/4" chip out of the corner of the headstock, whilst breaking two panes on the light over the table. All I had for new strings was 10-46's so of coarse I needed to re-start the setup. It's all good and the 10's setup just sounds so much better. A new case should arrive today and I'll follow up w/ a few pics of the final product.
Not a perfect fit, but it doesn't move around in the case.
