I know what you mean, FSB. I haven't worn a watch since I retired almost 4 years ago. My practice schedule consists of what I want to work on each day, not when or even for how long. This morning I put in about 30 minutes. About 2/3rds of that was practice and then I finished by playing two songs. I have to leave soon to take my son to pick up his new glasses because they close at noon.

There's lots of rain and flooding here, and I know some streets are closed, so it may be a slow drive. I'll take my 4x4 pickup and leave the Mustang home today. :)

Careful with that water, Marky. I’m looking out the window and big white flakes are coming down to cover falling leaves a few hours earlier than expected.

I have no garage like I’ve had elsewhere, but that’s okay with me because I don’t have critters nor do I have to repair it like neighbours especially with faulty doors over the winter. Still, it can be beneficial as long as it’s not a storage shed (l have a great vinyl one that was one of my better investments). So, I have two canvas/vinyl covers that I use for keeping the snow and ice off of the car front and back windows. I’m off to put them on and, now that I can, this afternoon I will re-bond with the Strat for the first time in a long time. Looking forward to it, :D

I hope you enjoyed your Strat time, FSB. It's good to hear that you are feeling up to playing again.

Today was a long day of running errands and restaurants. We just got home and it's TV time and then sleep.

Thanks, Marky. Great to be able to play again. I got a little time in for the start of my return to the guitar(s) and, although I was going to try the drums for a test (the last time I played 5 minutes would knock the breath out of me with pain), I decided that will come after my arm and I am fully recovered. I didn't think It would take this much time, but it is what it is and I’m glad to wake up every day and I can breath clearly which should help bring back my vocals being what they are. In the past I could hold a note for a very long time (almost indefinitely) and I should be able to do that even if I can’t sing regardless of what my fans say.
Tonight my wife and I, as part of the weight loss effort, walked 5 miles, looking at classy big old homes in the neighbourhood where a lot of Thanksgiving festivities could be seen. I had no problem (we’ll try more mileage later) and the reward was that I had plenty of daily calories left for strawberry shortcake with light whipping cream and a warm hot chocolate which was appreciated because it was only 38°F outside.

Everyday brings a new adventure, and I wish a good one for everyone. :D

I'm going to go for a long walk, go to the grocery store, then put in some bass time, and watch a movie I have recorded.

It's great to read that you're both going for nice long walks, Paul and FSB. I wish I could join you. :) I did some reading about Strats. It was just general info, so nothing new or exciting to report. Now it's time to practice and then take a nap. :)

Crappy weather here today, but looking at the weather channel I see the Gulf has another hurricane developing.
I didn’t get in my walk today, Marky. But, even though I got turkey dinner and strawberry shortcake, I managed to keep my calories below the limit earlier in the day so I survived. Phew! :P
No bench presses with the Strat today, so thanks for filling in.

Probably going to go for a walk, then do some shopping.

Had another thanksgiving dinner that couldn’t be beat.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Happy Thanksgiving, Matt.

And Happy Columbus Day, my American brothers and sisters.

Sipping on a Blueberry tea.

Waiting on UPS.. Should be delivering a few 5x7 blanks of spalted maple to test finish on. May have everything together by Friday to actually start testing. Tested neck angle geometry yesterday, looks good but I have a small gap in the bottom of the pocket I need to fix. The instruction book says to fill gaps/chips (common in production guitars) with super glue#30. I will probably end up w/ a full dimension shim/laminate piece around 1/32-1/16 to create a better neck/body contact. I also decided to deviate from the instructions and not join the neck & body until after the finish is completed. It should be easier to manipulate the pieces and accomplish a good rattle can finish this way.
Watching hurricane updates, just in case.

I guess nobody "got" my reference.
Maybe the crowd here is too young.
Perhaps I should have included (27) 8"x10" colour glossy pictures with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one was.

I just drove through the panhandle Monday afternoon coming back from Tuscaloosa. Those folks are possibly in for a world of ****! 120 MPH sustained winds.
