I have to run some errands, maybe go to the gym if it's raining.

I betcha that new Strat sounds sweet, Marky. Oh, and the one similar to yours in the contest I entered, the one we talked about. Woooosh! It passed me by this week like the one before that, and the one before that, and . . . Ah, fuggedabout it.
There’s only one Marky. :P
Cheers!

Oh man, I had a good feeling about that one for you. :(I'm about to get ready for a doctor appointment after which, if the stars are aligned correctly, play, play, play.

The Ibanez acoustic bass that we ordered showed up already. I'll open the box up after dinner and check it out. It actually showed up a day earlier than I expected it to.

I just woke up from a nap and it's time for dinner and TV. I hope to get in some playing time too.

Went for my daily walk. It was raining so once again we hit the mall. As usual we came out with shopping bags and I got a cardio workout with the arms carrying clothes for me and a purse for Mrs. FSB. I don’t know about losing weight, but everytime I go for a walk my wallet gets lighter. Sheesh!
I’m celebrating with a bowl of orange
Jello.

I'm going to test out my new Ibanez acoustic bass, then I'm sure I'll go for a walk at some point.

Well, that might take awhile to get there, and I'll need a passport. :P

Well, it's raining again, so I probably won't be able to go for a walk. Hopefully, I'll be able to plug in that acoustic bass and try it out today.

I missed out on my walk yesterday. I’m hoping to try out on the drums to get a workout. This will supplement any walking I should get in. If not today I will soon. Several days before my operation I found that I could not physically handle 5 minutes without being breathless and in pain. It was a risk without monitoring, but a test of my condition all the same. I love playing guitar like we all do here, but for a brief time I was not feeling too good about, perhaps, giving up something I have done since the age of 15. I also have my kit setup with 7 mics and a recently new floor drum. I am confident that not only will my drums be beat, but that I have it beat as well. If not, that’s one exercise I will no longer have within reach, and I’ll have to brush up on my brushwork jamming to (Lawrence Welk).

Meanwhile, I’m looking forward to picking up the Strat, since my arm is now able to handle it. I can play The Star Spangled Banner Canuck style. Maybe now with my new drugs I’ll sound like Jimi. Yeah, right. :P

Playing drums is actually a pretty good workout, if you're aren't able to go for a walk. I think you'll get in the shape you want to in no time. 8)

I finally was able to plug the Ibanez acoustic bass into the Fender Rumble amp, and everything seems to work and sounds pretty good. 8) Now the only thing I'll have to do eventually is find some sort of gig bag for it. Cases are too damned expensive for me right now, so that would be better than nothing.

I’m sure you are aware of what’s called hard gig bags, Paul. Extra padding and more; but, it increases the cost to where gig bags are not always cheaper than cases. Fortunately, I got a gig bag with the Taylor, and it is a soft bag, but well made FWIW. I like the rubber bumpers on the butt of the bag. They help to prevent the bottom of the bag from slipping in a vertical lean, from getting wet or dirty, and from wear and tear. A really good feature. Two zippers around the perimeter and around the front pocket(s) help should one get caught or break. Water resistant pockets speak for themselves. If you plan to busk or transport the acoustic more than me, a hard gig bag would not be a bad investment if it meets your budget. You might strike it lucky. Levy’s (the Winnipeg strap maker) has a beautiful crocodile leather gig bag that is seen to be over $1000 out the store. Kinda funny because we don’t have any crocs here. I certainly wouldn’t leave that out of sight.
Fortunately, there are some good deals out there. I’d look at the stitching, if possible, which helps to indicate, but not confirm, better quality. IMHO. Other than that recommendations from real world testing helps, and reputable brands. I’m sure you know all this, but others may not so I add these tidbits.

I see that Ibanez makes a couple of suitable bags for your bass, and lots of other options are out there. Have fun shopping.

Thanks, for your earlier encouragement, Paul. I’d trade toques with you any day.

You are right that playing traps can be a good workout, but like any exercise you have to push the envelope. Sometimes I’ll jam to Rock with Santana & Buddy Miles Live or Funk with Michael Jackson, but if I really want to get to a sweat I’ll jam with a big band like Rich, and burn down with Sandy. :D The only thing missing is a vibrating belt around my tummy, because slapping the skins doesn’t do a thing for the tummy. Hmm? Maybe, I can work with that and come up with a way to sell a solution on the Shopping Network. Think about it. People spend a fortune on exercise machines. Why not have fun and learn something for life. A cheap set or used set of drums and exercises = books and videos = $$$$

Back to reality.
Then, after a workout on the traps, if I need to chill down some more I’ll grab the Strat. and get mellow with the Blues or Surf. Sometimes, a total workout gives me some incredible mojo that I can’t explain. Maybe, because my head and emotions are free from the world around me. I don’t know. The vibes are definitely different.
