Missed that, Marky. That’s the one as in the article and video.

I missed your post, Paul. Yup, at 30 years, you're a lifer. I've got 53 years in. That doesn't mean that I am better, just older.

Allergies are a pain. I’m allergic to politics and nasty women. Thankfully, it’s not ice cream or Jello. Hope you’ll soon be able to return to the land of the free, Glenn.

Sorry you had to go through that. Hopefully, you won't have any more issues.
Thanks, Paul for the concern.

I hoping not; but, I have a forearm that is a little problematic where the entry point was and I have to put pressure on it if and when it has a lump or hardness that seems out of the ordinary. I have to watch it for awhile to prevent a clot. Unfortunately, it’s not very scientific or accurate. It’s a bit of a guessing game and comfort is not an option. Oh well, I’m still glad to be able to take on the challenge.
Cheers!

I don't think you ever stop learning, anyway. It's strange though, how you actually do gain skill. It's just happens almost subconsciously, I think. It's like one day you can't do something, then all of the sudden you can, but then you also realize maybe a couple of years or more have passed, as well. Time is also a strange thing like that.

I'm doing some laundry, and going to try to get a walk in before it rains. It's been oppressively humid here in the past couple of days. Kind of reminds me of Florida, although the temp hasn't been too high. Maybe the rain will break it up.

I agree. There is always something new to be learned. I don't play as well as I used to and sometimes, when I try something new and I have trouble with it, I get po'd. Then I try the same thing a couple of weeks later and I can play it pretty well. It's kinda weird. Maybe it soaks into our subconscious after a while and comes back out ok. Or, maybe not. I don't know but it's strange how that happens sometimes.

I used to know a lot songs from the late 60s and early 70s. Never mind just the chords, but the lyrics as well. I lost that when guitar took a back seat to working for a living. Before the song books were grabbed up by the big boys, I had different ones with different arrangements that I had learned. Overtime through moves and such they went missing, and so did my memory. I’m old. It’s all like learning a new song today. I hate flipping music books that are not optimized for guitar. Sadly, many of my favourite books are out of print, but I’ll admit there are better ways to do this. I agree with Paul that time has it’s own agenda. :P

I guess the thing is you just keep working at it, and not let it get you down. I think if you work at something long enough, it will happen.

Sometimes, you can find old songbooks online. There's a store called Elderly Music that's in Michigan that sells a lot of old sheet music and things like that, besides instruments. I don't know how well that would work that you're in Canada, though. https://www.elderly.com/instruments/col ... rder=price

I may or may not go for a walk today, since it's going to be very hot. If not, I suppose I'll just play bass for several hours, instead.

Thanks, for that link and info Paul. I’ll have a look as there is one book I would especially love to locate.

“Elderly” could work for me Hahaha. What am I talking about? 70 is the new 60, and that's a good thing, because I’m into the 60s and 70s music. :P

I have a box of old sheet music passed on to me (much of which is a few generations old). I’ve yet to look at it yet, but it should be interesting. Perhaps, I’ll find some artistic decorating value or not for the music room.

That would be cool, I think. I've always wanted to have a music room decorated with old sheet music, maybe instruments, besides the ones you'd play. An old trumpet or a bass drum from the early 1900's. Zithers and ukelins, things like that. Of course, anyone could play those, as well.

In the 70s our crew and a bunch of guests ended up at a rehearsal house for the Guess Who. It was a bit of a wrap party and the old house was filled with people.

Someone called a brewery and asked if they wanted to donate. If a refusal was given, the guys told them that the competition was making a delivery. It wasn’t long before three opposing brewery trucks showed up and delivered free of charge of course.
The bathtub was filled with brewskies and so were we. Then we were gathered for live music, and everyone sat around in the living room and halls with a collection of percussion instruments one of the Guess Who had collected in their travels. Somebody started a beat, passed it on. Then someone was elected to be a conductor to tell who when and when not to play. As the night went on it sounded worse, but we thought it was Grammy rocking. More like Granny stockings. We had a jam that went on for hours. I’d like that collection.

Other things happened, but I’m sworn to secrecy. I’m totally innocent and saw nothing. I was so appalled I was shaking all over. 8)

That sounded like a fun time. There's a store based in California, called Lark In The Morning, that sells all kinds of percussion and stringed instruments from all around the world, which is what gave me the inspiration to have a music room like I'd wanted. They used to have a page to where they'd have a bunch of old stuff for sale, besides their normal stock, but they don't seem to offer that anymore. https://larkinthemorning.com Still, they have some pretty interesting things for sale. I figure if you can play a guitar, you'd probably be able to work your way around another type of stringed instrument, or at least a close approximation.
