I’m having a spicy hot apple drink, and since there’s no more idiot box I’ll just say I’m watching the silly screen. :P

I just finished diner (my day started in the late afternoon, that's why we had it this late,) and am now chilling out to some Thelonious Monk. It does make for some great diner music, even though we had burgers and fries. Nothing fancy. :P

Good choice. That’s got a lot going for it. Maybe not the vintage; but, dang it can sing. It has that country twang and those Tele jeans. Oops! I mean genes.:P It’ll look good on ya at the Opry, Marky. Move over Brad Paisley and Keith Urban. Marky’s In town. :D

Changing strings on 2 guitars this morning. The humidity does a number on them!

Rolling outa bed to go shopping with Mrs. FSB. That’s always dangerous. Maybe I’ll stay where I am and pull the covers over my head.

Listening to the Beatles and watching dawn slowly approaching. Pretty soon, I'll have to move the curtain, because the sun will come beaming straight into the office window and it will be too bright. There used to be a tree in the neighbor's yard that blocked a lot of that, and had yellow leaves in the fall. It's too bad they cut it down, since that was pretty cool thing to see when that happened with the light coming through it.

Trees are a wonderful thing, Paul. We lost the bedroom shade of our much loved big birch tree recently, and the other day the city knocked on our door after we alerted them that the tree on our boulevard, next to our recently cut birch, has died. She marked it and told us it would be removed and, fortunately, replaced :D
Here 350,000 trees are estimated to be infested with the emerald ash borer (a newcomer from Asia) and 90 million dollars will be spent to fight it and to manage the 1.5 billion dollars worth of city Ash trees. Our boulevard tree is one.

It is a massive unstoppable and spreading problem that has been found across Canada and USA, so you may see a loss of trees in your neighbourhood. This may answer some questions when you see that horrendous devastation:

FYI

You might want to buy that ash guitar now. They may become as rare or as expensive as Brazilian rosewood in the future.

The video is very interesting, FSB. Thanks for posting. I seem to remember, back in Chicago, that there were some little critters that came in from Asia via the wooden pallets that they used in shipping.

Interesting. Good info., Marky,. Chicago is a beautiful city and, like others, the trees help to make it so. As for those pallets, that’s what we inherited with less made in USA and Canada products. We probably have our share of similar pests exported, although, our attempt to control the problem is, I assume, better managed overall.

Sadly, there’s no easy answer, added expense, especially in cities, and who knows, maybe the insects will survive space travel? (see how I snuck that space subject into the conversation ?)
Maybe, Fender Custom Shop will come out with a line of ash guitars with larvae or beetle (not the Fab Four) markings. Dibs, Fender. 8)
It’s all too much for me. I’m off to sing in the shower, but I’m going unplugged. :P Lalalala

What a great idea for the Custom Shop. The larvae would mature and eat their ways out of the body. Some making round holes and others making D-shaped holes. One could specify their preference. As time goes on we would need to replace the guitars. You know... planned obsolescence. I think you have a winner there, FSB. Happy singing in the shower.

Thanks, Marky. Imagine. When you get the tone you want - you kill the critters. Move over relic axes.

Geee,......... at least Cream had a tree with only four leaves, in "World Of Pain."
