Update: WD-40 seems to have (at least for now) discouraged the hornets from making a nest under the awnings. They appear to have left for better accommodations. The new arrival yellow jackets kicked us off the patio for the first time this summer. This means War!!!! Thankfully, they were the only ones with casualties this time.

I don't blame you. I imagine you only have so much time in the year to be able to use that until the winter comes ripping through with all of the snow, so you don't want to deal with that crap, as well.

Bingo! You have that right, Paul. Averaging six months of winter, one to two months of cleanup and yard work to fix the mess winter leaves behind, fourteen or fifteen weeks of summer with rain showers or extreme heat amongst the nice days, maybe two months of great fall weather (albeit a mite cooler) (my fave), and with it comes more work for preparing for another six months of winter.

Having lived where snowfall was an oddity and sweaters outdoors in December were standard gear, them prairie varmits give me that Yosemite Sam image. Hahaha.
While it is a PITA for me, I’m actually pretty good with it with an outdoors background, but it’s difficult when you have company that freaks out. I enjoyed fishing remote Manitoba and northern Ontario, and you haven’t lived until your flesh is ripped from a black horsefly, surprisingly, only by females.
Even so, every day is a nice day if you want it to be.

Tried to go for a walk this evening, but then got caught in a downpour, with an umbrella, as much good as that can do, when you have gusts of wind coming at you sideways. At least I got in an hour and did some incline with the hills. I'm going to jam out on the bass for a bit. Not sure if I want to play on the Ibanez or violin bass. Maybe both.
