Not to mention a nice daughter and a great college football team.
Right now I’m eating fettuccine Alfredo and sipping a large for real ice cold lemonade after having cut the lawn and spreading fertilizer in the anticipation of tonight’s rain.

We found a nice apartment for her. Away from the stadium during season, but close enough to the campus, and the music building. ROLL TIDE!!! Image

That’s great, Glenn. Sounds like a a perfect setup. All the best to your daughter, and I wish her the best in her schooling and good times. Go Crimson Tide! Enjoy the season. :D

I have the Alabama flag to fly. The house two doors down flies an LSU flag. The house four doors down, to other side of me, flies a UF flag. So the Alabama flag should fly just fine. Image

Whoo boy! I know how rough swimming in dangerous waters can be. It can be fun too.
I moved around a lot and so I pull for several teams in several sports. Two are in the city I live in, but that all takes a back seat to my birth place’s and my father’s team when comes to football. My neighbors, friends, and wife’s family (all raised here) are Winnipeg Blue Bomber fans.

As you know I worked closely with the Bombers (and the original Jets). But, my Hamilton blood takes a lifetime of support for a team that has a history of rugby that was one of four original North American rugby/football teams (Montreal, Toronto, Harvard) including my team from 1891 which is Hamilton. My baby sitter was a Canadian and American All-Star Hall of Famer, and my father’s brother lived next to another Hall Of Famer. Today those original teams have evolved into what they are today, but history shows that’s how the game and leagues began.

When the west division Winnipeg Blue Bombers play I’m a fan. My wife cheers for Hamilton except when they play the Bombers. When they play the east division Hamilton Tiger Cats (Flutie’s former team, presently having renowned NCCA/NFL coach June Jones, and now questionably enlisted Heisman trophy winner Manziel) fireworks fly.

I think your Crimson flag will look perfect, Glenn. I feel sorry for the other guys. :D

I follow the Miami Dolphins for my pro team. I never really followed a college team that much, until now. Image

Going for a walk pretty soon, then pick up some dinner, maybe do some playing on the bass.

Great post. My wife, and I had the honor to meet, and talk with Don Shula. The old Orange Bowl did literally shake when the fans went a bit wild. It could even be seen on the TV game coverages, showing the cameras shaking. Long live the 1972 Miami Dolphins!

That was a treat. :D
I heard a story when I spent a houseboat fishing holiday in Red Lake, Ontario (just north of Wisconsin). I don’t know if it was true or just another story of Vince Lombardi.

Apparently, as the story goes, on one of his fishing trips he asked permission to land his plane. The small strip denied it because they said his plane was not capable and that it needed a longer runway upon which he briefly touched down and, not stopping, immediately continued to complete a takeoff. The next response was, “Now, can I have permission to land?” The rest is history.
