Waiting for the sun to go down a bit before I go out for a walk, since the UV index is pretty high today, even though it's relatively cool and dry out. In other words, I don't feel like messing with any sunscreen right now. :P After I'll get back, I'll plug in the violin bass into the Fender and jam out for awhile.

I went out for a walk, after getting some breakfast and coffee from Cumberland Farms and went to the park. It was a bit hot and humid this morning, so we didn't do a really big walk, like we might usually do. I did see some people setting up some speaker cabs at the gazebo in the park (there are several electric outlets in it,) so maybe some sort of music festivities are going to take place, or it's just some band going to jam out for a bit. That's happened a few times before. It's supposed to rain, so who knows how that's going to pan out?
That sounds like fun, Paul.

On gazebos, my late kid brother had a passion for music, but alas he could not play an instrument which he would like to have done. So, his passion and love of his community had him see his final project being a gazebo/band stand. He researched with musicians and a music store to see what would work, and how it could be appreciated by all. It now sits in a small park by his former home. The cool thing is that behind some framing there is a cedar carving (or metal plate - I don’t recall) that will reveal some of the participants names that had a hand in making it come to be a reality. Only when changes or the dismantling occurs will the unexpected time capsule like honors be visible. :D

I'm going to be getting ready to clean the outside windows on the back deck, in a while.

Looks like you are setting up for a wonderful day, Glenn. Have a great one. :D
Me? I’m reading up on options with my slightly older WiFi/Bluetooth indoor (non-battery) speakers, and I’m about to open newly arrived contest winning (demo) Bluetooth outdoor speakers from another brand that also have an app. I’m going to see if all of them can be paired, and it will be interesting to see what colour and sound they will have. It’s another good day filled with music. :D

I spent three days doing some much needed chores and helping out a good friend. I'm exhausted and I think today will be a recliner day. 8)

Gotta love recliners, Marky. I’m sitting in one now. Have a great recliner day. You’ve earned it. :D

My girlfriend is going to do some filming for an upcoming Halloween music parody video, where she's playing a vampire. I'm going to be assisting with that. It's going to be somewhat elaborate, involving green screens and drone footage. There will be further filming in September, as well. It's going to be pretty cool, I think.

Ghoul friends are cool! That looks to be a fun time, Paul. Have a great time, and good luck with the production. :D

We just wrapped it up for the session. I guess they're going to do more in September. You know, there's a hell of a lot of work that goes into making any sort of professional video, even 30 second TV commercials. Those green screen things are pretty cool, though. When it gets finished for Halloween, I'll link it here, if anyone wants to see it. I have no involvement with any of the music, or anything like that. My girlfriend did all of the music, herself.

Yup, on all of that. I was a commercial director through much of my career. and the only one for 8 years in our company; but, I was also responsible for variety programs, until the money losing low cost News took over and incorporated dumb downed entertainment (like interviews, trailers, mass promotion, and the like) in local media to get those longed for ratings. It worked!

We once setup a full studio with kids and Hot Wheels and tracks for Mattel which was a lot of fun, and there was a time when blue screens ruled; but, partly because blue was and is a popular clothing colour (amongst other things), green screens became the norm. I can remember experimentation with yellow screens (other colours can work with varying responses), but that didn’t last long. Telling someone not to wear blue in front of a blue screen is like telling someone not to wear lines to prevent moire. http://www.mathematik.com/Moire/

Britain historically advanced the high end music videos with groups like the Beatles, Bowie, and progressive rock
Supergroups to be brief. They still hold a reputation for their work causing many groups from this side of the pond to show up there.

A great and adaptable crew is key, but hours and timelines are brutal. The glamour can wear thin sometimes, especially with clients (even music video ones) that want champagne production on a beer budget. Creative simplicity can be your friend at times. Just like with music, a feeling of accomplishment when things gel as planned are a natural high that gets you through to the next challenge with the next team. :D
Pretty talented girlfriend, Paul. Sounds like a keeper.
Glad things went well, and it’s great that a good time was had by all.

Keep rawkin’.

Thanks, FSB. I did have a great recliner day. This morning, I woke up at 6am on my own and feel fresh and recharged. Life is good. :) I hope you enjoyed your day too. :)

Wow that sounds great, Paul. It's very nice that you and your girlfriend have such similar interests. It's wonderful to have so much in common. Best of luck with your project!

Interesting tidbit on the moiré effect, FSB. I did not know what it is so I looked it up. Thanks for the info, FSB. Here's the definition that I found:

"When odd stripes and patterns appear in your images, this is called a moiré effect. This visual perception occurs when a fine pattern on your subject meshes with the pattern on the imaging chip of your camera, and you see a third separate pattern. (This happens to me a lot when I take a photo of my laptop screen)."

I never knew what caused that. Now I do. :)

Did a 2 hour/ 6 mile walk today, and now I'm just checking email and noodling on the Ibanez bass.
