That sounds pretty good. I haven't been in a Waffle House since I moved from Florida 15 years ago. There aren't any around these parts. I used to go there late night, after gigs or from a club back in the day, since they were 24 hours.

It was good, Paul. I always get their waffles. :)

Enjoy your new desktop computer, Glenn. That’s always exciting. :D
I was looking at some new laptops today at one of those designer stores whose name is a household brand.

Well, that didn’t get me reeled in because the difference between the current processor version and the earlier one was over a grand in Canadian moola. The earlier version came in at over two grand, and I’ll admit it was stylish and thin with an over hyped screen. I don’t buy into the $2500 - $3500 laptop for bragging rights that can be matched in many features and surpassed in others for half the price.

I’ve worked with dedicated computer equipment throughout my life, and they cost thousands for older technology, but they were truly unique.

It’s not only that these laptops are über expensive for what they are, but the lesser ones in the lineup are questionably priced IMHO. YMMV

I seem to remember a time when computers across the board had a major drop in price. Yes, there are deals to be found, but current models seem to have taken a fork in the road as Carson would have said.

I’ve built desktops, but laptops are outa my league.

Thanks, Computers can almost be equated to amps. The Laptop is somewhat similar to a Combo, and the Desktop is somewhat similar to a Half Stack. A part in the Laptop went bad, and that took out the keyboard. That seems to be like a Combo amp. Plus Laptop is old, and considered obsolite.

Hey Glenn - congrats on your new computer!

Now that my workbench is assembled and in place, I can put my music goodies away and setup my studio in a more permanant fashion. Fun stuff!

I hear ya. Funny thing about obsolesence. Sometimes you get in at the beginning of the run and you get a good ride. Sometimes, it's at the end of the run and you hit a brick wall. I've got a old Pentium 120 that was saved for old DOS games and other family use, but it has been dormant for sometime. It is soon to be buried because of old age. Obsolete? That's putting it mildly; but, when it was new, CAD, 3D animation, and games were developed on ones just like it. It also has a 90s Ensoniq Midi program. The upgraded audio card and video cards were as much as some laptops cost today and the stock PC package could have bought today's mid range Apple Laptop. Ah, but the old one had Pong and PacMan. Hahaha.

That's great, Marky. I'm sure that will make things easier. Say . . . did ya get the full size deluxe bench or the discounted small one?

First gardening of the year. I have a 10’ black lace and two dogwoods which I pruned to the ground after winter, and then I fixed the hanging of a few of Mrs. FSB’s birdhouses on my 40 foot evergreen. That’ll help out the many song birds that entertained me on such a great day.

Earlier I checked some great music related artwork on curtains, but I really need new blinds in the music room and it’s all part of my ongoing project, so there’s no rush. 8)

Someone contacted us about my Squier Precision Bass that I put for sale. Hopefully, they won't flake out, and I can sell it and get the money so I can get a short scale bass. 8)

Good luck with your selling of the bass, Paul.

I’m going to spend some time in the yard today. It’s always a lot of redundant work when you live with seasonal changes. :?
I’m thinking of getting a service to do it, but it’s a fenced in yard, and it has a lot of nook and crannies with the landscape and structures so a DIY seems to be the best and worst approach.
Have a good one!

Well, the person contacted us again, and we're going to go meet up tomorrow. After that, I'm going to order a short scale bass from AMS, and I should have it shortly after that. I'll post here what I'll wind up getting.
