Went ahead and put my Squier Precision Bass for sale on Craig's List. If it sells, I'm going to take that money and get a short scale bass, since like I've mentioned previously, what I've been used to playing, lately. I hope I don't regret doing that, since it is a nice instrument, but what good is that if it's going to just sit in a case, and I'm not planning on giving up playing the violin bass anytime soon.
I wish you well on your potential sale there, Paul. To use the old adage, “One case closes and another opens”. Here’s hoping you win this case.

I think you made the right decision, Paul. I have two guitars that I almost never play anymore and have been thinking about selling them but I haven't been able to pull the trigger just yet.

I've been doing some recording and have laid down 8 tracks so far. I'm going to work on that and get some practice time in today. That's my only plan for the day. :)

That's the thing, even though you might not be playing something for a long time, you might wind up regretting getting rid of something by making a rash decision, or impulse one. I don't know how many times I've made that mistake. I think there's probably countless forum threads about people that did the same thing. I did think about this for a long time, plus the fact I absolutely have to sell this bass before I even think of getting another short scale, so there's always the chance it might not even sell, so I'll still have it, if that's the case. I'm hoping it will sell, but it's not some sort of huge loss if I don't, since it is an excellent instrument, and I do have other options besides that one. It just made more sense for me to get something that's equivalent to what I'm using now.

I've often wondered how many B3 organs and Leslies left home because of weight or repair only to be replaced by a slick new added feature keyboard. I’ll bet there were a lot of regrettable pouts going around later. On the other hand there were also a lot of satisfied customers. Old or new. Something to be said for both. IMHO. YMMV.

I'd have to say that would be cool to have a B3 and a Leslie. Not that I know how to play one, but my girlfriend can.

Lucky me had a B3 and Leslie for years to play with (not well, but it helped me learn some things) at work along with several Grand pianos over time.

In the early 70s Yamaha shipped one of these from Tokyo for their champion Japanese performer to demonstrate (and to give me a new toy haha). The Beatles played something that resembled this, but not as cool or sophisticated. Keith Emerson and Stevie Wonder amongst others got subsequent models. So, for a couple of months this baby and it’s cabs stood beside the B3 and Leslie. One should know that the B3 was mature technology, and the E-X42 Electone was fairly new with advancements still progressing.

Understandably, this is not a keyboard Forum, but since there are Beatle fans, Led Zep fans, keyboard players, and overall music fans here, I thought this would be a good time to show an example when, as loved and as classic as the B3 is, just like an attachment to guitars, sometimes the jump to change is not such a bad move after all. Vintage and modern are in their own zone. Good thing - or our guitars would still be a plank or a diddly bow! :D

The E-X42 is an amazing instrument and, for the early 70's, it's absolutly incredible. I'm not a keyboard player but I can appreciate this fine instrument and it's versatility. The vibrato on the keys just blew me away.

Thanks for the cool vid, FSB.

You’re welcome, Marky. I thought it might be new to some Lizards here since they were few and far between. It truly was amazing for it’s time. Yes, there was competition out there, but this was the whole package, and the video doesn’t begin to show how beautiful the design features looked. It would have been perfect for Austin Powers or the Space Station. We were fortunate to hear that young Japanese pianist play that keyboard to it’s best. I cried inside when the studio had to give it back. :(

I never knew about that keyboard. That's pretty cool. 8)

I just came back from a walk, before the weather started to get nasty, now I'm trying to psyche myself up to put in some practice. I'm having a sort of lazy day, even though I worked out, that I don't know if I feel like messing with anything, but I'm sure I will, once I actually pick up the bass.

Glad you like the keyboard, Paul. Boy! The northeast has sure been getting it. I hope you get relief from that soon.

Beautiful day here. Snow is almost gone. I have metal over wood doors on the shed, and that doesn’t allow access in the winter. However, today they were opened for the first day of the year. :D Then, I noticed a pool by the corner of the house. The eavestrough drain pipe extension was frozen under and it had separated from the downspout, Well, rain is expected for a few days so out came the spade from the newly opened shed, and it can rain without adding to the pool now. :D

Probably going to go to the gym, since it's been raining pretty heavily all day. Although, I think it did stop for the time being. Still, it's pretty nasty outside. I did actually wind up playing a little bit last night, besides the fact I was feeling lazy about it. I'm not sure if I'm going to do any playing tonight. We do need to start working on stuff, though. We do have a gig booked at the end of May, and we were planning on adding some extra songs to the set, since it's supposed to be a longer one.

Hell, with the weather we've been getting, you'd think we were further up north, ourselves. It wasn't this cold last year, from what I remember. Another thing I've heard about is there might be an active hurricane season this year, too. I hope that's not the case, especially for those people down in Florida, who usually get hit the hardest, and down in Puerto Rico. I don't think they've even recovered from the last one that hit them bad. We've been relatively lucky around here, although we got hit pretty good in 2011, but not as bad as them. I think we only lost power for 36 hours, or something like that, but that was just in our neighborhood. We live really close to a hospital, which usually means that's one of the first areas that will get restored first.

Well hurricanes are bad enough. That’s for sure. I wish everyone in the potential path for calm skies during the season.

I gave up the earthquake zone with it’s Tsunami signs where I’ve experienced my share from tiny to large shakes and booms when the plates rub and, while there was structure and landscape damage at times, fortunately casualties were at a minimum.

So then I wisely decided to tackle tornadoes which are coming more and more to this area. I’ve never been freaked out by earthquakes or rough weather, but when it comes to sheet lightning or twisters they can shake my bones like when we hunkered down beneath a hotel pool and glass roof in Fargo, ND with the EMO, and rubbing shoulders with the Army to dig us out need be on a weekend visit. We watched a fairly good size one pass us by as kids and guests feared the worse. Pretty scary. Much worse than watching a video. As many here know, you can run but you can’t hide, and no wet weather gear or hard hat and boots are going to help.
Meanwhile, my family and friends are bragging about the cherry blossoms we left behind.

We're getting ready to go out for a late dinner on a beautiful night. It's 77/25 degrees with 9% humidity and a nice 9mph breeze. :)
