I just about ready for some practice time and maybe a little recording. I'm having lots of fun recording except it proves that I don't play as well as I thought I did. My blues solos are good but I have to work on my rhythm.

Going to do some shopping, maybe go for a walk. As far as my search for a short scale bass to replace my Precision, I have a fairly strong idea what I want to get, unless of course, something else pops up.

I’m catching up on the last couple of days here on the Forum

Tornado? Glad that missed ya, Glenn. I’m no stranger to those heavy duty thunder storms either. They’re a battle when crossing the long lonely prairie highways.

Ouch! That elbow and hand can be painful, Paul. I agree with Glenn’s suggestion for you to wear something wrapped on your forearm just below your elbow. Lots to choose from. I use a wide one just below the elbow. Mine has a half moon hard support. Works very well . . . so well that, after months of use, I pretty much go without it these days even though it shows up when least expected, usually if I work outside. You’ll want to jump on that sooner than later Paul. I was recently in conversation with a friend and full time guitarist that, for years, has taught and played lead for several hard rock bands, and after his unsuccessful operation with his fret hand/arm, he has had to take a back seat with pain. He is considering switching to rhythm if he can, but even that will be a chore. A change to your alternative bass should be a help. Best with that search, Paul.

Interesting side note: Many us know that you don’t have to break the bank to get that mojo. Randy Bachman an über guitar collector is known to have killed American Woman live (that doesn’t mean he did her in while she was breathing) using a Yamaha Pacifica, and Jeff Healey’s axe of choice was a Squire!

Hey, Marky! I’m sure you play just fine. Keep up those recording skills. You can always fall back on that and get a full time job unlike the temporary gig minstrels.
Meanwhile, I mounted a “Rave On” by Buddy Holly 78RPM over red felt. Both had been kicking around doing nothing. Now it sits in a thick white gloss square frame with his name in silver attached to the bottom. It found a home hung on the wall in the family/music room.

As soon as I find a suitable frame a mint 1935 Little Nipper with RCA on embossed paisley 12 inch 78 RPM will become a neighbour of Buddy’s. HM King George V will face the wall. :P
FSB

Factoid: Buddy Holly, strange as it seems today, had one number 1 hit! For three weeks it was 1959’s “It Doesn’t Matter Anymore”.

I used to have a wrist wrap when I first started having issues with it, but then I either adapted to the problem, or it hasn't really bothered me too much. Most of the time, my pinky might feel a little numb, but I can still use it.

Well, as you noticed, I was searching the archives today and revisiting some of the older
topics. It's amazing to re-read some of the history that has gone down here. This is a wonderful
community and I'm proud to be a small part of it.

Going to either go for a walk or go to the gym, depends on what the weather is like.

That does sound like Tendinitis.

I am currently organizing my Pomeranian’s dog toys as they are scattered all over the places. It seems like I have a toddler around with all this mess in the house.

I'm listen to some random bands and see if I like anything. I'm also thinking about playing the video game "Fallout 2." It's been awhile since I've done that.

Maybe you could tie the toys together like a train. Then you would only have to pick one up. :P

It's been enlightening to listen to recordings of myself playing along to backing tracks. I've caught myself pushing the beat a few times and noticed times when my accents could have been better but it's all good and plenty of fun.

That's a surprising factoid. Thanks for posting it.

That's cool, Mike. I feel the same way except I think you are a big part of it. :D

Went ahead and put my Squier Precision Bass for sale on Craig's List. If it sells, I'm going to take that money and get a short scale bass, since like I've mentioned previously, what I've been used to playing, lately. I hope I don't regret doing that, since it is a nice instrument, but what good is that if it's going to just sit in a case, and I'm not planning on giving up playing the violin bass anytime soon.
