Yeah, I also don't want to wind up having a stroke or worse. You really don't see a lot of old dudes around that carry the weight I did, and still be able to walk, as well. I had to do something before I wouldn't be able do anything. Not to be bleak or morbid, but I just don't want to go out like that.

I've been having a constant on off battle with weight over the years myself. I'm better now than I've been in a while.

A while ago, changed out the batteries in the smoke detectors. One started chirping, and I knew the others would be doing the same thing right after the first one.

In a few minutes, it's going to be about that time of the day here for this old man. And none of this knick knack-paddywack bologna either. Oscar Mayer Bologna.

You've done a great job, Paul!

Thanks, I keep trying. 8)

Speaking of which, I'll probably be heading out there pretty soon.

I'm going to play for a while while I have the house to myself and then hit the hay.

I"ve got the dogs fed, and squared up for a while. Now what's for breakfast?

Same here, Glenn. I fed the dogs and I'm enjoying a cup of freshly-brewed coffee and looking forward to breakfast. :)

Checking email, and then I'll be going for a walk. I have no idea what drunken mayhem is going on downtown now, where I usually walk around, since it's St. Patrick's Day. :P I know they had the parade and all of that. I woke up after 11 AM, so I think I missed it, anyway.

Last night's St. Patrick's Day madness in Newport was just that! We went down one of the main strips where all of the action is (restaurants, clubs, bars, etc.) and the cops were going crazy with sirens blazing and everything, including the SWAT team and cops from the next town. Apparently, there was some business in a bar with someone with a gun, and I'm not sure if anyone was shot, or not, and the person fled. I was there when I saw the rescue squad and fire department at the place, which is an Irish pub, but I didn't hear any sort of gun fire. It could have happened when we were on the other end of the area, and I couldn't hear anything. They also had a mobile drunk tank unit, which was some sort of large vehicle to put people in that are too inebriated, I suppose. I've never seen such a vehicle before. Other than all of that, and cop cars flying up and down the streets with their lights and sirens blazing, it was relatively calm on the street, itself. A lot of drunk people stumbling around, but that's to be expected. Then again, who knows what happened after I finished my walk? :P Oddly enough, I didn't see anything in the local news this afternoon about it. You'd think with that sort of thing, there would be something.

Glad you both were safe in that commotion. Sounds pretty intense.

Up here we might think it’s the fans leaving a Vancouver hockey game. :P

Sounds like a wild night, Paul.

We just stayed home. My son wore a green shirt though. :) I'm not doing anything now. I have been able to play for four days in a row for at least 30 minutes each day! That's good for me and I'm going to keep it up. :D

Most of the time it's usually people getting busted for public urination and drunk and disorderly, and a lot of women fighting each other for some reason, when it's party season around here. I haven't really heard a lot with anything seriously violent, although I'm sure it does happen, but not typically along that section of town. It doesn't get busy around here until into spring going into summer. That's when everything is open and the Newport Folk and Jazz Festivals happen and all of that. All of the boats start coming in and anchor in the harbor. Winter time is pretty quiet. Probably because it's too damned cold. :P
