Just finished up breakfast and checking email. I'm already packed up for today's rehearsal. I woke up at 4 AM this morning and couldn't go back to sleep, so I got about 6 hours. I couldn't shut my brain off, and kept thinking about music. I'm wondering if that is because I have a gig coming up? Other than that radio show we did 2 years ago, we haven't played out in a little over 6 years. I'm not nervous about it, but I guess I get too much thinking about everything.

I understand that, Paul. You're not really nervous like in performance anxiety nervous. You are thinking things through so that everything that is under your control will go well, and that is all well and good, IMO. Maybe it's excitement that kept you awake. I am happy for you that you are able to go out and gig again. It's gonna be awesome! 8)

I've been pretty busy the past couple of day doing some serious shopping and other things to where I've barely even been at home until it's about time to go to bed. I don't think I've even been on here in a couple of days. I have a couple more rehearsals in Boston before the gig, which is March 3rd. I also got a Fender Rumble 4 x 10" cab, which arrived this afternoon, which I'm going to be using with my Orange Terror Bass 1000 head. I haven't taken it out of the box yet, or messed with anything, but when I do, I'll try to post pics here.

Went for a walk, did some more shopping, and some laundry, washing the clothes we got from shopping. My girlfriend is going to be interviewed on the local AM station for Newport, tomorrow afternoon, and I'm going to videotape it for her social media pages. I still need to hook up the new Fender cab and see how it sounds, and check to see if it's defective, or not. It looks in mint condition, even though it was sold as a "minor blemish" model. The only thing I can tell was the box was opened and taped back up again. That's AMS, for you. You can get great deals with them from that.

I trust the interview went well for you and Jenn, Paul. Lots of talent there, so I’m sure it did.

I also hope the cab proved to be what you expected.

Today, I am doing a plethora of music related considerations. I have only 70 more presets to tweak to my final preference on the Mustang IV. Then I get to tweak harmonies and narrow down program favourites, etc. from a list of 500 presets on the TCH Vocal/Guitar pedal (splitting usage between acoustic/electric and the Strat).

Until I get a programmable mult-track digital mixer on the list of things in my want list (a few steps down on my priority list), I still need to make adjustments with volume. EQ, and Lexicon EFXs to a two track board going to a DAW where I may be able to futz with a software compressor (unlikely) until the new mixer takes over in that department. If all that isn’t enough to choose from, I have a couple of backing tracks to add vocals to. I guess it all depends on my stamina and laziness accordingly.

It appears that life doesn’t always get to be plug and play.
Where’s my tape deck?
FSB

Meanwhile, I have just been handed salty Sweet Potato chips and a glass of red vino which I haven’t been able to have for a time. :D

The wife and myself are going to go to breakfast a local Original Pancake House. Diced ham and eggs, with an order of chocolate chip pancakes on the side for me.

Pancakes are a fine way to start the day. I hope you and the Mrs. have a great breakie and a great day Mr. Nylon.

I’ve been fed stacks of pancakes in the Sugar Bush where the good stuff drips from trees. I’ve had them on ships and trains where maple syrup slides around your plate. But, as a kid I ate those round tastees throughout America. I even ate them beside effigys of Paul Bunyan. The funny thing is I was often confused with the correct term having to use griddle cakes, wheat cakes, flapjacks, hotcakes, crepes, and a kazillion other international terms. Oddly. as far as I know, a waffle is a waffle and Pancake day is far and wide.

When I go out it’s down the road a ways for a giant German Apple cinnamon and butter crispy coated baked pancake that folds over the side of your plate.

At home I eat Logger specials with a pancake, topped with butter, a basted (soft) egg, and topped with (when I can find it) real Quebec Light (colour of ginger ale) Maple Syrup, topped with another pancake, and repeated in the same fashion with the eggs a couple of times. Add Canadian bacon or sausage with hash browns and toast to the side. To get the whole vibe you have to have a toque on, but in the house there’s no hats at the table. Outdoors in the woods is another story. :P

I gotta try chocolate chip pancakes some day.

Not much, since it's been raining all day, but we've been doing some serious shopping at the Warwick Mall and other places the past few days. I have some new duds for stage wear, and some new shoes. We were supposed to have a rehearsal in Boston today, but my girlfriend is having some issues with her voice, and doesn't want to risk losing it, since the gig is next Saturday. We'll get together Wednesday, and I'll try to rehearse on my own with the backing music and her recorded vocals to stay in playing shape. Things are going to get crazy busy around here.
