You've made a lot of progress on your studio. Congrats. I'm sure it will be a work of art when finished. I'd like to see some pics of how you did it when you're finished, if you are so inclinded. :)
Really not much to look at Marky. More like a scribbled sketch. My studio shares a third of the 29 foot long x 11 feet wide area at one end. More width would have been appropriate but the room is a 70s paneled rec room professionally built, but no complaints. Just a Soundcraft MFXi 8 input Lexicon mixer that replaced a 12 input lesser version, a stereo rack with a Sony CD audio only recorder/changer, a Sony CD carousel, an Akai 7” Dolby R2R, a Yamaha DBX/Dolby 3 head Cassette (like new), a Teac dual deck dual reverse recorder with speed control and more (like new), an 80s Denon 150 watt RMS true class A amp for the mixer which sits off the room next to an HP Media PC with a Focusrite 2i2 interface in the adjacent open room. A Teac 4 Track 10 inch deck that doesn’t get much love anymore, and sits on the floor for future digital dubbing of pre-recorded material.

In the sound room is a Fender monogrammed black and red sparkle drum/guitar stool facing a Frankenstein drum kit made up of my original ‘66 20 inch Premier bass, 12 and 14 inch toms, early 60s Rogers Dynasonic snare, 2017 16 inch LP Raw Series Street Can Brazilian drum in place of a floor tom, Paiste 14 inch Hi-hats, early 60s 18 and 24 inch heavy Avedis Zildjians. and a Cyber Monday Samson 7 drum mic kit with a Shure Beta 57 to add at will for drums or the amp. An inexpensive gifted Yamaha YPT 300 keyboard which does the job, some Dynaco 10 inch speakers (church sale) that I no longer use for vocals (replacement is down the road), a first Gen Mustang IV amp with Fender Expression 2 and 4 button pedals. A 2012 Amn Dlx 3TB Strat, 2017 Taylor 114 ce acoustic sharing with the Strat a TC Helicon VoiceLive Play GTX with it’s switch 3. A Focusrite CM25 condenser mic and a TC Helicon voice control dynamic mic (surprisingly good) IMHO.

And the usual stuff like a new Hercules wall hanger (the Strat hangs, but humidity won’t allow the hollow body to be hung unfortunately), pop filter, a Fender tin sign, and a Chicago Woodie band poster. The mike cables are all blue for the aquamarine drum kit, and red for the mics and a pedal to prevent tripping on the wall to wall carpet. No sound treatment.

A display of music related literature with funky covers and motivating knick knacks such as my first tape deck (a late 50s flamingo pink battery operated 3 inch R2R unit), a drum kit alarm clock, and home entertainment at the other end of the room.

That’s about it. Looks like any other crammed in space, just a little better than before. :D
If I win this month’s charity lottery, pictures of a new sound room will be on the way.
I really need to get a life or another one to complete the bucket list.

Thanks for the detailed description of your studio, FSB. Your words paint a very good picture. You sure have a lot of nice hardware to work with and I can see how it keeps you busy. Don't worry about your bucket list, you've got another 25 left in you. :D Good luck with the lottery!

Thanks, Marky. I don’t know about the 25 years, but as long as it’s enough time to hear some of your music from your new gear and time to hear the a lot of the Lizards’ submissions here in the Lounge, that will be great. :D

Side note: Some years back I had a phone call from my boss who asked if I would take a free baby grand immediately out of a studio so a new one could take the place. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the room back then. On the other hand, likely due to electronic keyboards, the local Steinway, Baldwin, and Hammond dealer closed down soon after. Maybe, it was meant to be. Still, the wife’s candles sure would have looked good on those 88s.

Now if any good free guitars are available . . .
:P

Trying to turn my schedule around again, to be up in the morning. This night time stuff in the winter gets really depressing after a while. I do have some errands to do when the morning comes and everything opens, and it looks like rain, so I'm not sure about walking. I'm hoping to at least get a rehearsal in.

Went for a long walk at dawn after having a maple bacon donut, which was something I've wanted to try for a long time, from this local donut shop that makes them to order, plus a bunch of other stuff. If you're ever in Newport, Rhode Island, the place is called Liberty Donuts. Highly recommended. 8) Didn't get any playing time in today, but did some shopping. Now, I'm getting ready to call it a day, since I've been up since 1 AM, last night.

I have it all figured out, Paul. I’m here to help you. Your staying up since 1am amounts to the Liberty Donuts’ Maple Bacon malady. Very dangerous and incurable.

Being a Canuck I know about Maple syrup flavouring and Canadian bacon is a staple. You see . . . we Canucks are raised with that, while our friends south of the border get a salt and sugar rush that they’re not used to. Add the fact that we have, perhaps, the largest international donut chain (even in Afghanistan)(and then there are two outlets three blocks away on either side of me). So next time you find one of those awesome sounding donuts I urge you to hand it over. It will help you sleep. Me too.
It must be the solution because I didn’t have a Maple Bacon donut last night and I got some sleep. :P

I hauled my 18" bass cab downstairs, so I don't have to mess with it tomorrow, when I go to Boston for rehearsal. I'll be using that with the Orange head, and the violin bass. This will be the first time I've even plugged that bass into that rig. I'll see how it works out.

Have safe trip and a great rehearsal, Paul.

I've played my Strat for about 4 hours all together and loved the single coil clarity. It truly is a great guitar but now my Les Paul is calling me so I brought it downstairs and I am going to play it for awhile before bed. I'm starting to wonder about myself. Is it bad if you hear your guitars calling you?

That depends on how loud they are and the tone of their voice.
