Then again my white (I prefer to call it silver) hair is a dead giveaway. Hey! I got it. Maybe I can pass as Keef doing Jimi. He’s got the same look. Wrapped head and all. Notice how I got the word head in again? :P

Oh my gosh, you guys are still fighting that flu? I thought that was long gone. There are some natural remedies down here that are terrific. One was passed down to me by a Native Shaman who is also a very good friend. I think it would fix you guys right up and, as you Experience it, it might even turn your hair black again. I hope you guys feel better soon. Sending good vibes. :)

I put my Orange Terror Bass 1000 stack on the market, so I can raise funds to get the yet released Rumble Stage 800 combo. I've been waiting for something like this for quite some time, and it looks like they delivered. 8)

Thanks, for the vibes and options, Marky. Black hair? Yeah, that’ll work. I’ll bet that Shaman has a line up waiting for this remedy.
I don’t want to sound like an old fart that I am talking health yada yada, but this might give a heads up to be vigilant.

People here have been told that, even with medical attention, this strain just needs to be waited out. The chest takes a beating after the other symptoms. I have neighbours and heard of others that have also had this flu for over a month or more. Fortunately, it hasn’t snowed much. I heard another third flu is possibly on it’s way to and through N.A., and it’s thought to be as bad or worse. I’m lucky to have a doc who is on staff at the hospital. He told me that these recent flus mutate, which may explain why, from a meeting he recently attended, the verdict came in to say the current flu vaccination success rate is approximately 30% (although, questionable, it may lessen the impact of illness). A more universal flu shot is in the works. This leads me to think health authorities are presently grabbing straws with no fault of their own.

All the remedies I can and can’t think of, short of calling up the spirit of Gitchigoomie, have been done. If the Keef/Hendrix thing doesn’t work out, I’ll call on the great Gitchi with a smudge pot and a feather from the birds in my backyard. I might even sacrifice a few squirrels for the cause.
Stay well.
I’ve got two flavours of ice cream in the freezer to make up for the stuff I’m tired of drinking or eating so I’m good to go. :P

I just looked it up, Paul. Very cool. The fact that it is plywood and light is a bonus. I’m guessing you haven’t heard it yet, but it should be good. Hope it all works out for ya.

Have you and Mrs. FSB had pnuemonia vaccines? It's something to watch out for when you've been laid up for that long. Hang in there my friend and it will be over before you know it. :)

Nope, but I have experience with both severe pneumonia and bronchitis and I’m still here; but, definitely one of the better options for sure. Probably a good thing for future consideration.

At least I don’t have the Rockin’ Pneumonia . . . just the Boogie Woogie Flu.
Things seem a little better today. Only one more day of meds and then it’s time for a glass of wine, Moscow Mule, and, perhaps, some Blueberry tea. Today I’ll settle for an orange or strawberry milkshake being that strawberry’s are in the fridge..:D
FSB

On the lighter side of life I’m still working with my new studio recording setup. My amp and vocal stomp box are being tweaked and rearranged and today, for my recent floor tom replacement, I received an online order of a limited coloured xlr cable to match my other six drum mike cables. I struggled with how to mix the set with a mixer that was at a distance and pretty much locked into position. A non drummer helping wasn’t going to do it for me and same for inexperience at the mixer. I’ve now decided to take each miked drum to the mixer. Not perfect with acoustics, but I should be able to get them in the ball park knowing what I know and tweaking shouldn’t be a problem. I could record and add effects at the software level, but I want to use the Lexicon hardware at the mixer which will be good to go with consistency at the drop of the hat. Exceptions will be the case, however. I like exceptions.

I have yet to tweak the keyboard, but tweaking the acoustic electric settings in the pedal will be a priority (after the Strat).

A lot of work for sure, but I’m hoping for a payoff down the road. An automated multi track mixer would be handy, but so would Muscle Shoals be nice.

Today I entered a local regular multi million dollar hospital lottery with only 64,000 tickets sold. Many furnished homes, several luxury vehicles including one for $250,000, a month and a half of daily draws for $1000, a 50/50 draw that increases daily up to $1.5 million, and hundreds of other prizes including big cash sometimes with other prizes and sometimes alone. Maybe the dream home studio (or dream guitar) isn’t totally out of reach. Even if I don’t win so much as a donut card it will help others. :D

Hey FSB - I remember mentioning the pneumonia vaccine to you a long time ago. I don't mean to be pushy but it could save your life. I had pneumonia several times and during a hospital inpatient stay (not for pneumonia) I was offered the vaccine so I took it. That was several years ago and I haven't had a recurrance since. It's only a one-time shot, not annually like the flu shot. Now just flick that Boogie-Woogie flu out the window. You've made a lot of progress on your studio. Congrats. I'm sure it will be a work of art when finished. I'd like to see some pics of how you did it when you're finished, if you are so inclinded. :)

Really not much to look at Marky. More like a scribbled sketch. My studio shares a third of the 29 foot long x 11 feet wide area at one end. More width would have been appropriate but the room is a 70s paneled rec room professionally built, but no complaints. Just a Soundcraft MFXi 8 input Lexicon mixer that replaced a 12 input lesser version, a stereo rack with a Sony CD audio only recorder/changer, a Sony CD carousel, an Akai 7” Dolby R2R, a Yamaha DBX/Dolby 3 head Cassette (like new), a Teac dual deck dual reverse recorder with speed control and more (like new), an 80s Denon 150 watt RMS true class A amp for the mixer which sits off the room next to an HP Media PC with a Focusrite 2i2 interface in the adjacent open room. A Teac 4 Track 10 inch deck that doesn’t get much love anymore, and sits on the floor for future digital dubbing of pre-recorded material.

In the sound room is a Fender monogrammed black and red sparkle drum/guitar stool facing a Frankenstein drum kit made up of my original ‘66 20 inch Premier bass, 12 and 14 inch toms, early 60s Rogers Dynasonic snare, 2017 16 inch LP Raw Series Street Can Brazilian drum in place of a floor tom, Paiste 14 inch Hi-hats, early 60s 18 and 24 inch heavy Avedis Zildjians. and a Cyber Monday Samson 7 drum mic kit with a Shure Beta 57 to add at will for drums or the amp. An inexpensive gifted Yamaha YPT 300 keyboard which does the job, some Dynaco 10 inch speakers (church sale) that I no longer use for vocals (replacement is down the road), a first Gen Mustang IV amp with Fender Expression 2 and 4 button pedals. A 2012 Amn Dlx 3TB Strat, 2017 Taylor 114 ce acoustic sharing with the Strat a TC Helicon VoiceLive Play GTX with it’s switch 3. A Focusrite CM25 condenser mic and a TC Helicon voice control dynamic mic (surprisingly good) IMHO.

And the usual stuff like a new Hercules wall hanger (the Strat hangs, but humidity won’t allow the hollow body to be hung unfortunately), pop filter, a Fender tin sign, and a Chicago Woodie band poster. The mike cables are all blue for the aquamarine drum kit, and red for the mics and a pedal to prevent tripping on the wall to wall carpet. No sound treatment.

A display of music related literature with funky covers and motivating knick knacks such as my first tape deck (a late 50s flamingo pink battery operated 3 inch R2R unit), a drum kit alarm clock, and home entertainment at the other end of the room.

That’s about it. Looks like any other crammed in space, just a little better than before. :D
If I win this month’s charity lottery, pictures of a new sound room will be on the way.
I really need to get a life or another one to complete the bucket list.

Not much info yet on the Stage 800, and nothing on the Fender site (which is typical for them, it seems :P) but I've read bits and pieces. Apparently, it's supposed to come out at the end of March. We'll see.

I've had a couple of responses to the ad for the Orange stack. Hopefully, it will sell.

Getting together the set list for the upcoming gig. We're suppose to have rehearsal this Wednesday with the guitarist. I'll be bringing the Fender Rumble 350 combo this time, since I'm trying to sell the Orange. I want to use my violin bass, too. I still need to get a case for it, though.

Going to go for a walk. Tomorrow, we have rehearsal with the guitarist. I'm not sure if I'm doing anything related to that tonight. Maybe I'll just jam out a bit.
