It looks like we'll be able to go for a walk, which is good, since I have to burn off those donut holes I had with my breakfast. :P

Canadians love their doughnuts just like their hockey. Unfortunately, most Tim Hortons regulars enjoy buying a smaller than original, parbaked, frozen and shipped across the country doughnut from one bakery in central Canada. It might even be one without yeast. Of course most Canadians who missed out on Timmy’s originals, are not aware that they have, for some time, been frozen, they originally were not, and others choose to ignore it.

As long as it’s early morning or a quick lunch at a deceased NHL player Tim Hortons franchise, the doughnut gets a pass by the fan club even if it has Wendy’s and Burger King stamped all over it. To not like their doughnuts is taking a chance to be called un-Canadian. But since I was born in the same neighbourhood before that first doughnut, I too get a pass.

There’s a few grocers that can compete, but, alas they don’t have doughnut holes or a drive through so once in a while I’ll join the herd for lunch, and maybe get a box of Timbits. Besides my mom keeps sending me gift cards in memory of my dad who loved doughnuts, and went to the original Tim Hortons with his brother. Also, my favourite hometown football team is sponsored by Timmys. I guess those are good enough reasons to eat a second rate doughnut. IMHO I make up for it when I see some good alternatives though. :P

Trying to see how cheap I can get a case for, or go the gig bag route for my violin hollow body bass. I'm thinking that I might wind up using it as one of my, if not the main bass to use, and I don't have a case for it. I'm going to be doing some gigs soon, so I do need to figure that one out. I only paid something like $99 for the thing, so it's kind of ridiculous that I'd have to pay more for the case than the bass itself, but they don't exactly give those things away.

I hope you feel better soon. You know, if you like it, and can handle it, something with hot peppers in it, like Vietnamese pho, does a good job of clearing out your head when you have a cold. Maybe even just chicken soup with something spicy in it, as well. At least, that's what's worked for me in the past.

Thanks, for suggesting the pho, Paul. I managed to get some Jewish deli made chicken soup, which had to be a stand in for pho this time around; but, pho looks to be really good choice for the future; besides, I like Vietnamese food, and we are lucky to have very good Vietnamese, Japanese, East Indian, and Thai restaurants within walking distance.

Taking that theme, I made up some Chinese noodles, onions, garlic, mushrooms, and veggies with some 5 spices, OJ, and Thai Chili Sauce. We both felt under the weather before having it, and after eating it we lost headaches and felt considerably better for the best part of a day. So, proof again that those hot spices work. It’s also proof that Chinese food doesn’t last long because the next day, today, we took a step back and we be cruisin’ slow speed again. We’re hoping to rev’ it up again tomorrow.

Hope, you’re getting your walks in, and that your weather has improved., Paul.

Only 63 days to Spring (March 20) depending where you live. 8)

Just got back from a walk and grocery shopping. It was nice to have been able to do that and not deal with 20 degree and under temperatures. It was a balmy 35 degrees. Break out the Bermuda shorts and suntan oil. :P

Working on putting a set list together and starting the rehearsal process for an upcoming show. Time to get busy.

Thinking about becoming a bubble boy with this flu. On the upside, I’m excited the days are getting closer to sitting on the patio with a guitar, a cool Moscow Mule in hand, and, hopefully, constructive song ideas on a hot day. :D

Oh man, I was going to ask you but I thought you were over that and taking care of Mrs. FSB who was now under-the-weather. I hope you guys get better soon. Sending good vibes. :)

Well I finally got all of my Studio One plugins working. That may not seem like a big deal to most people but it took me almost a month to do. Now it's time to have some fun. :D

Thanks, Marky. Our province has been hit the hardest this year, and it has two flus including the H1/swine flu variants. Still, we are lucky as I have read our indigenous are not faring so well. This all hasn’t peaked yet as the province is expecting more of the same.

It’s mostly chest related now so we are managing accordingly. A lot of friends and family had the same. All the typical remedies have been tried and have worn out their welcome. The abs got a painful workout with coughs. We’re just taking our time I guess. Thankfully, the weather is cooperating with warmer temperatures for now. :D
It’s great you have the plugins solved Marky, and now the fun begins. Whoo Hoo! Have a great time with those recordings and playbacks.

Sorry you two are still not feeling well. If it's settling in your chest, watch for signs of pnuemonia. Try to walk around the house and keep moving and take deep breaths the best you can. A vaporizer might help.
