That sounds yummy. Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy your family, Glenn. I'm sure you will. :D

Going to go for a walk and later we'll be doing the Thanksgiving thing. We have Thanksgiving alone, so it's not the traditional afternoon family thing most people do.

Been there, done that. Sometimes because of work and sometimes because of location. Not the same as with friends and family; but, it can be nice and romantic with quality time too. Holidays and celebrations with traditions sometimes manage to take a different road, but there are many great destinations. Here’s wishing you two enjoy one tonight, Paul.

Thanks. The one tradition of Thanksgiving that's intact is the leftovers. That's where the 101 ideas for leftover turkey often come in handy for folks. :P

You got that right, Paul.

I like it all, but I particularly love stuffing (dressing) sammies with a little cranberry jelly or sauce inside. It always seems that the stuffing runs out before cranberry spread is gone. :?
I like hot turkey sandwiches gravy and all. It’s not that turkey sandwiches in any form are worse than a stuffing sammy, but you can’t get a stuffing sandwich in a restaurant or a fast food outlet. Hey! Maybe, I have an idea

Factoid: I recall some years back it was reported that the Government Of Ontario did a feasibility test with their Turkey Board or Association. After a Turkey outlet was offered to the public the outcome was a failure. That’s why there’s no Colonel Sandra. They should have had stuffing sammies.

My girlfriend made a turkey salad for sandwiches with the leftover turkey, basically like you would with tuna fish, mix in some mayonnaise and there you go. We have made a hot turkey sandwich with stuffing and cranberry sauce before, like you were talking about.

Yesterday, I had to do a fresh reinstall of my PC, and wiped the hard drive, which was why I didn't check in here. Luckily, I had no aggravation with Microannoy, which is what I refer to for Microsoft, which in itself is a miracle. :P So far, so good, although it's strange I wound up with Windows 10 again, instead of Windows 8, which is what the PC had installed when I got it new. I suppose it doesn't matter, as long as it works like it should, but this is also a good reason to back up all of your files, because you never know when something can go wrong. I use a thumb drive for that, since I don't like to use the cloud service at all.

I refuse to use any cloud services for any purpose.
My devices keep giving me those extremely annoying alerts that my cloud usage is almost full and I should click here to upgrade to a paid version.
Yah, right. Like that’s going to happen.
You want my data AND you want me to PAY you to take it.

It’s not.
Owning an external drive is essential.

Thumbs up on external drives of any kind. I keep hard copies of anything I want saved (data and the inclusion of photos and music to be brief). I’ve even used left over floppies on a cheap portable drive occassionly so it doesn’t end up on my PC, add to my hard drive storage, or waste a CD/DVD. I’ll often do that for a quick temporary need without burying the medium in a folder somewhere. Thumb drives work too of course, although there have been debates over both the longevity and data loss of thumb drives over time and generations.

I love chicken salad sandwiches. In fact they make fresh ones down the street and every so often I pick one up. Your girlfriends version sounds yummy, Paul. I’m bringong my lunch kit over there. I don’t have one and normally don’t have a need for one, but in this case I’ll make an exception. On second thought I’ll bet they’re all gone. :P

I agree. I don't know if I'm being paranoid, but I just don't trust the whole cloud thing. Then again, I won't put anything online that I wouldn't want anyone else to have access to in the first place. You never know what could happen, especially with hackers and all of that.

I use to use CD's or DVD's for backup, but I went to a thumb drive because it was a hell of a lot easier to use, and sometimes the CD/DVD wouldn't record correctly or be corrupted to where I couldn't even open it. Of course, that's usually my error in not setting it up properly. I still have a bunch of blanks, just in case I do need to, or decide to use them. A lot of PCs now don't even have a CD/DVD drive, which I don't like that they do that. I still need that feature, so hopefully that won't be completely phased out, if I have to get another PC.

Oh yeah, we just had a small turkey breast in the first place, since it was only the two of use, so we didn't get the usual giant bird, which you can take so much leftover turkey before you start gobbling, yourself. :P

I agree, Paul. We may not all need or want CD/DVD units in our computers, but existing CDs and DVDs are plentiful, amongst other things, I even have an audio CD component recorder. I, for one, desire to have a DVD/CD option with Blu-ray preferred. I use erasable discs a lot. Thumb drives are definitely beneficial; but, they’re not everything, and CDs and DVDs definitely have their followers and niche. Besides, who needs the extra work to do unecessary transfers.

The only reason I see not to have one is to sell the Cloud and similar services. Less is not always more. IMHO. YMMV.

Another reason I like to have a PC laptop (which I have,) with a CD/DVD slot, is I have video games and DVDs, which I like to use on it. I typically like to own my stuff as physical media, so that's why. Yeah, I know, old school. :P
