Just got back from a walk. It's nice to see some daylight, even though it was kind of overcast and started to rain at the end of it.

It's a beautiful cool morning and I am watching my pickup truck getting detailed. Man was it dirty. She'll be all purdy and shiny again. 8)

Thanks, Marky. After the cable guy I think the component inputs of the little used projection HDTV were put to rest as I tested them with both the box and a DVD player. Either the receiver, box, or video amp must've found a way to put the kibosh on it. Can’t say who or how for sure other than they worked recently. That explains things. I’ve used a variety of RGB component cables and some were high end. Whoo boy! Lottsa fun.
Composite works okay though. Now I have to see if the cable menu that says it is running 1080P showing the selected video is just in concept or if the source is reality playback since I find it hard to believe that to be the current playback with composite hookup. Perhaps, upscaling is In effect, but I doubt it.

Not worth fixing IMHO as the media is changing faster than a cheeta. Besides it’s not like I don’t have enough TVs (but I like the projector look for movies). :P
Hang ‘Em High was on the movie channel while setting it up, and the audio on that flick is amazing! So ya see. Good things are always just around the corner. :D

Well that sounds great, FSB. You have things well in hand, as I was sure you would.
I have a nice surround sound system on my 60" TV so I'll check out Hang ‘Em High. I love those westerns. :P

60” Surround. Nice! I got the 51” Wide Screen HDTV projector when my wife got it for me through her work. I’m spoiled. My Dad moved our family to a Navy training base, and, as a teenager, I had the perks of its facilities where I used to box as a barbaric kid for recreation. That’s the same as hockey without sticks and shirts to pull. :P
Lo and behold! The projector arrived here at this home when we had lots of boxing on TV. Happy hubby. :D
A 65 inch WS HDTV projector, even then, was available, but with the base, it wouldn’t fit down my staircase.
There’s little hours on ours because we used it mostly for major events (like sports, concerts, and space movies, for example), where bigger can be better. My late mother-in-law had difficulty going up and down to the family room. We have a couple of 40 inch sets upstairs (for now), so the projector got kinda neglected even though a separates stereo with a sub was hooked up to it.

What’s cool today is that many movies have been re-mixed for surround and others can be matrixed for simulation. Usually, a movie gets my attention once or maybe, if it’s really good, twice. Things may change.

I’m looking forward to hearing the other spaghetti westerns and of course Sci-Fi. I have some other DVD’s, like an unplayed Raging Bull, many, if not all, of the older remixed cowboy heroes, some pirate and gladiator movies, and both HD and Blueray music discs. Personally, I liked HD DVD over Blueray; but, alas, it was like Beta and VHS. Speaking of VHS, I still have a variety of different 3D glasses for Super VHS (including 3D) kicking around. Hey! Look at that! Just like a lot of good things - old is new again. Sort of like music. :D

Picked up the car today and got a free pair of Bluetooth headphones with Micro SD card slot and FM to boot. Because of the EMF controversy and experiences that I’ve heard of and seen, since ‘95 and recently, I can choose to use a wire connection occasionally too.

There are arguments for both sides of the story (YMMV), but a lot of the pros are government or corporation sponsored. Others are for profit on both sides. Here is one brief view that might be of interest:

Dang! What a pair of hosers. I thought I had a unique style. Those two probably read this Forum. Reminds me of “You Got The Look” by Prince.
Gotta go. I’ve got some Canadian maple to chop down so Fender can make some more necks, eh? :P

Just think. Head on down to your local Outdoors store and you too can look like a Canuck.
I thought I had the Canuck swag. Well, today my wife says, “Ditch the ball cap and the roll up toque. Get a beanie (similar to Fender’s) like the neighbours. That’s what cool guys are wearing today.”

“Okay, I’ll give in”, says me. So on a side trip across town I see this black Thinsulate beanie. I phone to tell her and. with enthusiasm, she tells me to buy it. Sold!!

Now it’s to time pick up supplies at the liquor store to celebrate my new swag. Uh oh!

I look down the aisle and see a promotion. ‘Buy a case of beer and get a free NBA roll up toque with a pom pom on top’ the sign says. $&@#!?
I get home, show my new found head cover and she says, “That’s better. Don’t roll it.” Then I told her about what NBA players are wearing these days.
Now you know why I hate toques. Swag or no swag.
Pass the beer hosers. And make ‘em ice cold, eh? :?
Where’s my ball cap?

I generally like to limit my exposure to radiation. There are different types of radiation, of course, but I like to stay away from it as much as possible. My pickup is equipped with Microsoft Sync which can be used either wired or wireless (Bluetooth). I use it wired and I can still make and receive phone calls, listen to Pandora and use my nav system all through the builtin microphones and speakers in the truck. But that's just me. :)

My girlfriend made a pizza using Naan bread, and we had that for breakfast. That stuff makes a pretty good pizza, and it takes little time to make it. When it gets to be dawn, we'll go out for a walk to burn that off and I think I might be recording today, too.

I thought about getting a Fender toque, speaking of swag. The main reason I like to wear them in the cold weather, besides they do keep your head warm, is they stay on your head when it's windy, unlike my cap, and it does get windy this time of year, with the Nor'Easters coming in off the Atlantic. Speaking of beer, you reminded me that I have to go to the package store this morning when it opens. It's time to resupply. :P

First off (as any Canuck knows) - get the beer. Ya never know when there’s gonna be a strike or a storm and a run on the suckies.

Second - buy the beanie. It’s way better than freezin’ your noggin and having yer ears fall off. The other alternative to losing your hat blown away in the wind is of course any toque. 8) Tip: To show you have swag. Wear your toque/beanie only around others that don’t have one (that means no hockey games). It looks awesome around evening wear. Some even wear it to bed. I bet Yorick would look like a stud in one.

Here in the North we like to look cool and be frigidly cool. We think a toque (or a beanie) is uber better than wearing a latex glove with fingies stickin’ up (nobody likes frozen fingers). Besides, you’ll get weird looks if they all droop except the middle one. :P
FSB
Now that i’ve got that fashion advice passed on, I’ll work on the Eskimos. Maybe, I can get them to all wear toques.

Ya, right.

They do wear baseball hats though. Maybe, it ain’t windy up there.

Oh yeah, definitely got the beer yesterday. The funny thing about the Arctic and the Antarctic, for that matter, is they are considered to be deserts, which I suppose makes sense, because I don't think anything grows there. I guess a desert doesn't have to be all full of sand and hot. I did read about the Antarctic being like a forest, or similar environment millions or billions of years ago.

Thanks. for the factoid, Paul. I didn’t know that. Well, son of a gun! That would explain all the sand on the road. :P
See what you can lurn here in the Forum Lounge? It’s not true what they say about musicians (and that includes drummers).
When environmental change is discussed around here we point out the desert nearby and the puddles left behind from another environmental change that helped to kill off the local aquatic dinosaurs. Those puddles are called the great lakes.

FSB

Be careful spreading that Antarctic story. Some will think it’s fake news. I believe ya.
