Snow removal already? That's something that I always look forward to each winter. :P Actually, I heard that we may get a milder winter this year, or at least down these parts. One can only hope.

Aw, you’re Just trying to make me feel better. Paul. Actually, I hope all of you south of the border get a break from Mother Nature this winter. You’ve all had your rough year, and I know how bad it can be in the northeast along the Atlantic coastline in winter. Add a lot of other areas along our border too. Thankfully, I live in a city that, perhaps, is the best experienced and supported for severe winter. If we run out of snow plows, we bring out the dozens of Zambonis and ride the polar bears.
Where’s my toque?

FSB

Yeah, you can also strap on a pair of snow shows to get around. :P You just reminded me, I need to go and get a new toque hat before the weather gets colder around here. With the winds that can happen around here, my regular cap would go flying off my head when I go out for a walk. Toques generally stay put.

A buddy of mine uses snowshoes, but he’s French and thinks he’s a Voyageur. I have cross country skis, but they need new boots and I’ve retired them.

When I first moved here I used to buy a lot of fashionable clothes, and I brought lighter clothing from the coast. You wouldn’t find me in a toque. No way! It wasn’t my style. I did wear one at sea, but that was different. Later I learned to get warm, style took a back seat, and the toque, thankfully, became fashionable. Now I look like a typical Canuck, explorer, hockey player, commercial fisherman, logger, and musician. Baseball hats can be grungy or stylish, but a toque can keep your ears warm and, most of all, stops the brain freeze. So, I recommend one, Paul. I too have chased a hat many times, and the cool thing is you can store a toque in a big pocket. I keep a spare in the car’s glove box. Decent gloves for 30-40 below are another story.

If I don’t want to be seen in a toque, I just put my hood up. Oh, and one last thing - Teddy bear ears, Pom poms, and ringlets are out! :P
FSB

For extra impact, if everyone in the band wears toques, you might get more gigs if you tell the college crowd you just played Aspen.

I did some serious shopping with my girlfriend, so I didn't even wind up going for a walk today. Now it's about time to wrap up the day.

Sounds like a good day, Paul. You got some walking in while you were shopping anyway. I'm getting ready to call it a day. My son and I had a really nice day. We did some shopping too and went out to dinner.

Sounds like you both had a swell day. That’s Great! In fact every day is great IMHO. Just some are better than others. Have another tomorrow or, perhaps, I should say today.

Me and the cable guy are going to trouble shoot after my sleep so my day has ended for now.

Later,
FSB

Dang! What a pair of hosers. I thought I had a unique style. Those two probably read this Forum. Reminds me of “You Got The Look” by Prince.
Gotta go. I’ve got some Canadian maple to chop down so Fender can make some more necks, eh? :P
FSB

Just think. Head on down to your local Outdoors store and you too can look like a Canuck.

I completely agree, FSB! Thanks and I hope your troubleshooting is productive. I'm sure it will be.

Went for a walk earlier and was jamming out on the Precision Bass for 2 hours.

Sounds like you had a nice day Paul. Cool
We had a nice day too. I had an appointment then we went out for an early dinner and now we're watching an old movie. It's kinda late for a nap but I think one is in my near future. :)

Another day has come and it is soon to be gone. It appears to be a great day for all. At least I hope it was.

I had a great day too. Doing pretty much nothing. It would have been a great guitar day; but, my gear is in the moving stages downstairs (getting ready for a lot of winter playing on hunker down days). Looking forward to it.

So today I gave my brain a rest and did some reading. Yesterday, was more hectic than usual with a cable tech who was in a hurry to go elsewhere and I got some incorrect info that kicked the gateway PVR system out until I managed to get it temporarily up and running again, I’m not sure (from the info given to me) that it won’t kick out when I hook it up as first requested. The provider has changed the flexibility and whatnot causing disconnects and connects to disrupt service. Basically, these services do not always meet the demand; more like our equipment must meet their demand, I feel for the many who have no clue or experience, and for Seniors.
There’s always a tablet and a discount store Bluetooth speaker solution. YMMV Mine does.

Long story short, technology is no new thing to me, but lately I find it overwhelming with the amount it takes to manage it all. Phones, tablet, PC, 5 TVs each with cable/PVR boxes, guitar gear, audio/video stuff, and the list goes on. Blah, Blah. Much of it is redundant updates or no updates and work arounds, and programming. In case you haven’t cared or noticed, tape and turntable (both slowly increasing their comeback) have mostly lost their input and output connections. Toslink and CDs are not far behind. Wireless speakers could become the next change, and other connections and lack of will follow. I can’t wait until we get Internet appliances to add to the PITA. Some days a log cabin and a big rock fireplace in the Rockies looks good to me.

So a day off doing nothing suits me just fine. Time to get one of those new fangled View- Master thingies. Maybe, I’ll ask Santa. :D
FSB

A good movie is a great way to flush the brainwaves too. :P

Today was a very nice, lazy day. It is such a blessing to have my son feeling better and back to his old self. He keeps me laughing with his great sense of humor. :D Right now we're watching a 44min Travis Tritt concert and just chillin'.

Sounds like Life is good, Mark. And it is. Well . . . for the most part. That fluffy stuff is causing a mess that will see me shovel once again. I’m prepared though. ‘Cause I have my Canuck toque. :P
FSB

Maybe, I should take the Strat outside. I’ve heard frozen strings are a tone changer. Hmm? I wonder if that works on maple as well as rosewood. :|

I'm going to go for my usual walk, and I'm thinking about trying to lay down some bass tracks for a song we have. I'll probably use the Precision Bass on it.

Just came in from moving that fluffy white stuff off of the sidewalks and driveway. Now it’s time for the wife’s home made Fajitas. :D
Muy bueno
