I just received some 25 foot RCA to RCA audio cables from online sales. 2 day delivery at no extra shipping cost. :D
Like many here, I have excess cable from days gone by, but now that I need some longer ones I went shopping locally. It’s been some time since I’ve shopped for these types of cables and Wow!

It’s crazy out there. The rock bottom typical offshore cables available were averaging $1.50 Cdn. a foot more or less. Usually more for shorter cords. One step up and you were looking at head shaking prices when it came to value added or not added. I use premium cables when I can and yet cheap cables will sometimes work in a pinch until I replace them or in this case I need something in between because of the cable run in and under restricted areas. So I know the difference in value.

After checking my options from big and small stores locally, nationally, and internationally. I scored 25 ft premium 24K gold plated connector well known brand (not high end) cables (for the same price as 12 foot generic crap cables). In this case my 25 footers came in with shipping at 82 cents a foot. (Elsewhere the same was price inflated). Even those bullet type couplers are priced all over the map . . . so two 12 footers connected was of no better deal or decision.

After looking at inflated prices, I began to wonder how many fake branded cables are out there, and also how many people are duped with ridiculous pricing. After all, I’ve gotten premium 25 feet of XLR and instrument cables for similar or lower prices. Oh, and legitimately, I’m thinking the value of copper might have some bearing on today’s premium cables. The name esoteric adds value of course.
I’m not sure if it’s buyer beware or buyer bewildered.

If you build it they will come.

Seek and ye shall find.

I changed my signature for the Squier Family pic, after sizing it down. Hopefully, you all can see it, otherwise I'll have to mess with it some more.

Thanks. 8) The Jazz Bass is actually my girlfriend's, but I probably play on it more than she does, since she has a couple other basses, and plays other instruments, and sings. :P I thought it would make a nice group photo, since they all are Squiers of the same series, and same finish, which wasn't necessarily intentional. I was originally planning on getting a Squier Jazz Bass in Olympic White, but AMS had a deal on the Precision that I couldn't pass up, which also saved me $100. I'm glad I did get this instead.

A little while ago, I restrung the Olympic White Mustang PJ with the ETB92S Nylons.

That's good you finally got those in. Now, you should be ready to rock with that one. 8)

That's a nice deal on your Precision. It must be nice to have a girlfriend who is also a musician. My ex-wife and I did not share that. Maybe that's why she is an ex. :)

I wish that I had members in my family that were musical. I have a Ukrainian cousin by marriage that plays the accordion well . . . Well, aside from my father wanting me to fulfill his dreams of playing one, I put that right up there with bagpipes. It can be good, however, and since I spent some time in Nova Scotia I know there is a better way to play Oompah music. :D
A few ein prosits help, except with Lawrence Welk, and with friends coming to visit me next week with a well travelled Polish dance troupe I better pick up some liquid supplies.

Maybe I’ll put on my preferred Italian and French cafe accordion music and sip a little vino.

How’s that for bellowing?
