Getting ready to do some chores, but first, I'm going to play my new 2017 Gibson SG Standard HP that I just got on Friday. :D

Finishing up the last of the laundry and some other domestic crap, then I'll go for a walk before dawn. The weather the past couple of days reminds me of Florida, with the humidity, but it's probably 20 degrees cooler. :P

Getting up to cut the grass and play weed man while thinking of how great it is for Marky to have that new Gibby SG to play with.

Just got back from some shopping and continuing my Pink Floyd listening by checking out Roger Water's new album and then probably David Gilmour. Since I've already gone through the discography, I suppose I could see if I could find any live Pink Floyd bootlegs out there. That, or watch "Live At Pompeii."

I just got back from my walk. It was raining the whole time, but not hard enough to stop me from going out with an umbrella. I tell you, we've got a lot of rain this summer. It's been raining pretty much every weekend or so. I wonder how that's going to effect the fall? Last fall was pretty spectacular around here.

Not much rain here lately. Cracks in the ground, premature leaf falling from trees.

Today is R&R. Last week it was destroying a wasp nest in a bird house. They relocated as expected and began a new one under an awning over the bathroom window. That one's been removed too. I wonder where they'll move to next?

I'm ready for them. So far no stingers. Here's hoping my luck doesn't run out. :P

Starting to wind down after a very nice day. I hope all of you had good days too.
Good luck with those wasps, FSB. They sure can be pesky critters.

Having a fresh cup of Java. We have been trying different beans for some time now. We're not coffee snobs, but since we only drink one or two cups a day it's worth the extra step. Also, one of us drinks black and the other drinks double double. That means a coffee not too strong or bitter and not too weak.

We found some preferential coffee, but some have ceased to exist, some are limited, and others get replaced by the retailers. :? Funny thing is. amongst the good, the crappy stuff sticks around.

Add to that . . . I seldom drank coffee (unless it was on a cold damp boating day) until I quit two pack a day smoking at 41 only to start a new habit that is at least healthier. Hot chocolate works too (especially with orange liqueur on a cold winter day). :D
Bottoms up!

It looks like I'm going to be laying down some bass tracks sometime this weekend for my girlfriend's next EP that's due to come out soon. I mentioned this before, or maybe elsewhere in the forum, but I'm going to try something radical for me by using both my hollow-body violin bass, and my Precision Bass (I'm not so sure if I'm going to mess with the Jazz Bass, although I'd like to, but it does have a short in the jack that needs repair, which could be problematic,) and then see which one will sound the best for the song, since obviously they both are totally different sounding instruments. Who knows, maybe I could have them even blended together somehow? I'm not too sure, since the hollow body has flats on it and has that thuddy kind of 60's sound, and the P Bass has rounds and sounds like a P Bass. It could work, you never know until you try.

I like the idea of a possible blend together, Paul. Pushing the envelope usually gives it icing on the cake. I say usually because it works when there is a perfect marriage; but, not so much when there is incompatibility.

I say go for it. Even if it doesn't work, the process gets the creative juices flowing, and that never hurts.

Either way, I'll have the bass track finally finished for it. I'll also be using what I call the "Magic Box," which is my MXR M-81 Bass Preamp/DI pedal, that I picked up a couple of years ago. It does a hell of a job recording bass, I think.
