Picking the acoustic and watching American Pickers with warehouses of Studebakers (including some of the late 40s my father may have built). :D Studebakers broke many speed records. The later supercharged 1963 Avanti in one year alone broke 29 at Bonneville Salt Flats, and at that time it was the world's fastest production car. Faster than my speedy '63 Mercury Comet.
And a lot faster than their Studebaker (covered) wagon of the Wild West era.

Wondering why musicians from other countries feel they have to bloviate about American politics. They should play their music and keep their opinions to themselves. Roger Waters on CNN, fake celebrity/fake news.

A childhood friend of mine father owned a Studebaker dealership and he drove a gold '63 Avanti. Man that was a cool looking car for its day and it was fast. I only got one ride in but his dad showed us what it could do. That thing flew. I was only 11 at the time but I was very impressed. :) That could be partially why I'm a car nut.

Did some jamming on the hollow-body bass and the usual walk. We did a longer one because we stopped and got a gelato from a place called Cold Fusion, which isn't exactly diet food. :P I think it blows the doors off of regular ice cream, though.

Not only musicians, SBLS . . . although, they certainly fit the bill. These guys and gals forget their audience are not only for or against, but independents also get turned off. A good number of celebrities, including those media types that have built an ego to include themselves from being presenters to now appearing to be fabricated larger than life, mistakenly believe they are capable to run everything from domestic and foreign affairs to economics, science, and everything they have disagreement with. Wow! Those finely tuned polls and often star struck public opinions support this folly while reality tells a different story. Oh goody. :P
There are actors, athletes, and a whole slew of individuals that often become monkey see monkey do characters without full knowledge or experience, and very often these experts come with tunnel vision bias and a lack of legitimate education. They are also easily directed without putting time in with the issue(s). A sensible judgment is, at times, out of reach.

Today, all these so called experts are more credible on the red carpet than they are on the world stage. It's unfortunate the glamour is followed more than the issues at hand. Fake? Better definitions such as irresponsible, ill executed reporting, shoddy journalism, and true accounts such as a majority of those who participate/voted not including those who didn't would suffice. All and everyone seldom means all and everyone. Credible? Maybe and maybe not. Worthy? HMmm?

My guess is that musicians and music can be found everywhere speaking of each other's culture, politics, and whatnot. It's just that the U.S. Is such a big player in all of it - music, politics, and culture, SBLS. As my father used to point out (at one time) where GM gets involved, rhetorically speaking, so goes USA. Globally speaking today where the USA is involved we all are affected similar to the old British Commonwealth, but not so much today.

Unfortunately, there are those like you mentioned that prefer the spotlight where the curtain should come down with applause. For some the curtain should never rise. IMHO.

It seems that politics and bias of ye olde roaming minstrels continues from afar. Only bigger and badder.

Very cool, Marky. 8)
There's some interesting stuff on Wikipedia about Avanti including post Studebaker info such as Corvette and Mustang engines being installed as stock equipment.

Unfortunately, management caused the demise of Avanti just like Studebaker.

We have an Italian mini mall a few blocks away and orange gelato for me and peanut butter and chocolate gelato for Mrs, FSB is a regular around here, but it's all pretty good. That's worth a walk huh, Paul? :D

I put off finishing my new music CD so I could get my abandoned insane asylum photo essay book out!

Image

If you want to see some photo galleries from the Forest Haven Asylum and read my essay on the history of the US asylum system and the inefficient and misguided political and social evolution of care for the mentally ill in this country, check out my link (https://markhahnphotography.wordpress.com/2017/07/30/new-book-announcement-from-the-inside-the-forest-haven-asylum-available-now/)! It's a serious topic.

Should get my new CD out soon too!

Best all!

Yes, it is. I had the peanut butter with the peanut butter cups in it, and dark chocolate with sea salt, the last time. They have sorbet there that looks pretty good, too. I might try some of that next time, I'm not sure.
