Damn that girl can sing.

I really enjoy Pink too. Have you seen her Truth About Love Tour? The latest incarnation of that tour has evolved into quite an acrobatic performance by Pink along with her top-notch singing. I was very impressed.

I got my new garage door installed today. Last week, they brought out the wrong color door. Now I have to put orange colored reflective tape all over it so I won't hit it again. It was a busy day. I got a lot done including 5 minutes on my recumbent bike. Yeehaa first day of my new program. I used virtually no resistance but at least I got my legs moving. :D

Yes, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Absolutely one tuff/talented lady, my favorite female performance perhaps of all times.

On my way to bed so I can rise early in the morning for a drive in the country; but, not before I give a thumb up, Eric, in agreement about Pink's talent . . . and another thumb up for your new garage door, Marky. :D

It's all a matter of starting off taking baby steps, and trying to go one step further each day, and see how far you can go. I suppose that can apply to anything you do, though. A year ago I couldn't even walk a mile before my back would lock up on me, but I kept at it, little by little, day by day. It's really no different than playing guitar, or anything else like that. You keep doing it and eventually it just becomes a part of you.

I completely agree. First step taken - my son brought my recumbent exercise bike downstairs from the loft to my bedroom so it's very handy. I see it every day but just haven't gotten started yet. Then I feel guilty. Alright, you inspired me. Tomorrow I promise myself that I will start my daily exercise program. My legs are very weak so it may only be for a few minutes but, like you said, day by day it will improve. I bet when you started out you never thought that you would have such a positive impact on another guitar guy, but you have. Thanks Paul :D

Sorry I didn't respond back to you earlier. I didn't even have a chance to log in on here yesterday and barely did the day before.

I appreciate that. The sad thing about what impacted me to even start doing this in the first place, was my dad had a stroke a month before I started doing this, and I had a bit of a health scare, as well. He was in a lot better shape than I was, physically active running a lawn service business in Florida (he's 85, too,) but now he can't really walk too well and has to use a Hoveround to get around. So that got me really thinking about things, since I am 45, and I'm not in my 20's anymore, so if I wanted to at least make it to 55, maybe I should really start taking better care of myself, while I still can. So a year later, here I am, keep on keeping on. It wasn't really too difficult thing to do. The most difficult thing to do is making that decision to actually make the first step and do it.

I've been pretty busy the past couple of days. Did a lot of shopping with the girlfriend and visited friends and family in the United States (my Aquidneck Island, where I live, joke :P) and the usual walk. I did manage to put in some serious bass time with the violin hollow-body bass, yesterday. I played for an hour straight, cranked through the Fender Rumble 350 combo and jamming on some riff that I came up with. Hopefully, I won't forget it. I hate when that happens. :P That bass with that combo is a real sweet rig, The Squier Jazz bass sounds pretty good through it, too. 8)

Sounds good. 8) Those recumbent bikes are pretty nice, too. 8)

Sorry to hear about your dad, Paul but I'm glad to hear that he can still get around and you still have him with you.
Losing all that weight and continuing to walk at only 45 years old should help your quality of life a lot. I'm 64 and use a power wheelchair when I leave the house. It's different from a Hoveround in that I use a joystick to control the chair with my thumb. My arms aren't strong enough anymore to use a handlebar to steer.
I used my recumbent bike for 3 days in a row and I'm going to keep it up. I set the resistance very low but getting my legs moving raises my heart rate so I think it will be good for me all around.
Stay strong, Paul. I'm very happy for you. :D

Any movement, no matter how small it might seem, is always a good thing. The more you're able to do something, the more you're able to do, too. It's like playing guitar. When you start out, you can barely play an Open G chord, but then you practice and might eventually play some riffs or whatever. When I first started walking, I could barely even walk a mile before my back would lock up on me, but then as I went along, I was able to go further and further. Now, I can walk for at least 2 hour straight/ 6 miles, no problem, along with going up and down steep hills for incline training. It took me several months to get there, though.

I just got back from a few fun days and nights at our relatives' cottage. No cell or internet service (hence this late reply). Home made Mexican food the first night, home made Pizzas the next, and monster breakfasts, and delicious desserts ya da ya da.

I only got one pesky black fly bite that didn't compare with a cousin who stepped on a bee. Ouch!

Always enjoyed the song, and really enjoyed that video, Paul. Apropos. Thanks!

I read about your father's stroke, Paul. There's a concern for sure; thankfully, today's knowledge and support is somewhat better than in the past, and family support is a huge factor.

As far as I'm concerned you, Paul, Marky, and plenty of others here in the Forum and elsewhere are troopers, so congrats on fighting and winning the battles one at a time.

Best,
FSB

Doing laundry and some housework. The shelves in the office needed to be cleaned out, since I had a bunch of crap stashed up there and decided it was a good idea to go through it all. There's no point in holding on to old headphones that have shorts in them, especially when I have new ones. I probably get that crap from my parents with hording stuff like that sometimes. :P
