Getting ready to call it a day. It was a good one. Feeling stronger. :)

Going to go for a walk when it approaches dawn and make some dinner. I'm on a really weird schedule right now.

Do you ever work split shifts, Paul? Those can be murder. Especially on a 24/7 on call basis. I worked for a company that was the only one in the industry still doing regular scheduled split shifts in Mexico, USA, and Canada.

I showed up for work one Thursday finding a 100% strike was in motion. I got a check including vacation pay from the company on Friday, I got married on Saturday, and 6 months later returned to work with no more split shifts in a job where 16 hour days for a hockey game was not unusual. We'd often work 8am til 2pm and then back at 10pm - 12pm only to return the next morning to do it again. Amongst that we might leave at 12pm and get called in at 4am because the network back east was in an earlier time zone and a 5 minute interview was always uber important for them - not so much for us. The pay was good, but minimal time off between shifts was nuts. (Working on a ship is similar but pretty regular with a pince of sanity and proven consideration). If anything, those tough work hours made lesser difficult shifts easier to handle. YMMV. Thankfully, I had a great woman who's still with me. :D

No, but the closest I've done that was when I worked in retail where sometimes they'd schedule me to come in the evening one shift and the morning the next. That was kind of annoying, especially since I had a tendency to stay up late.

Boy! Do I know how annoying that is. I think there is a gate conspiracy out there.

We used to have a chain link fence around the yard. Those gates (front and back) were always being adjusted. The neighbours have their wooden gates do the same.

We have a back alley that serves us well in the winter (well, sometimes), and it is an advantage with the front road update today.

A few years ago we replaced the fence and gates with a vinyl version thinking there would be no upkeep. Well, 90% of that is true. Except for the large sliding gate where the driveway is, and the front/back gates.

The ground constantly shifts in this clay born city, and more permanent footings would only cause problems elsewhere, especially with our severe winter/summer. The fence and gates are fully adjustable though.

Hope you get it the first time round, Glenn.

Went for a walk at dawn and the weather was really nice for a change. It was warm, but low humidity with a nice breeze going. It probably won't last, but at least there was one day like that.

Glad you had a good walk Paul and I hope you chores go well FSB and Glenn. As for me, I am feeling stronger still so it's upstairs to play and maybe put some time into my new bench I've been slowly working on. :D

That's good that you're doing better. I'd just take it one day at a time. 8)

Just came back from my walk and did some grocery shopping. The weather was even better today than it was yesterday. The reason I'm even mentioning it at all, is the fact it's been so consistently crappy that it's kind of shocking that it's been nice. Oddly enough, it's going into July, too. I know Florida is an armpit right now. I don't miss that, that's for sure! :P

Getting ready to have some fresh hot Java. Later I'll have some bubbley with Mrs. FSB to celebrate our 46th Anniversary  :D
Maybe I'll even dance on the patio.

I wonder how much Miami Mike charges to play The Anniversary Waltz. I've seen his krazy request price list.

I wonder how much he'd charge to play some Cannibal Corpse? :P

Happy Anniversary, by the way! 8)
