So sorry to read about this Glenn. I know how painful it is to lose our canine friends. They are a bonded part of the family. I still miss Zoe, one of our Shepherds, that passed over a year ago. Well Oscar went in a nice peaceful way and maybe he'll be waiting for you. It may sound weird, but I've pictured Zoe sitting and waiting for me. Sorry for your loss.

On our walk tonight, we met Quinn Sullivan busking in the park. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quinn_Sullivan I didn't realize who it was until I got home and remembered him as a little kid playing onstage with Buddy Guy. He's 18 now and probably on break before he gets back on the road, since he's originally from New Bedford, MA, which is right down the road a few towns from Newport. I'll bet he probably lived around here, or maybe still at home and he's hanging out with a friend (there was another guy with him as they played acoustics.) He was playing a Clapton song and singing. You never know who you'll run into around here, especially during the summer season.

That's very cool Paul. How nice it must be to live there.

Trying to decide if I should have milk and cookies before stretching out on the patio chaise lounge for a nap or maybe I should take to a seat outside, grab a beer or other cooler, before grabbing the guitar. Hey! There's always tonight. Maybe, I'll do both. 8)

Made some home made s'ghetti sauce spiked with a touch of red wine. It's simmering for a few hours so the alchohol will vacate. I guess I'll have to get the stem ware out. :P
Ciao

Sorry about your Zoe passing as well. I hope to find Oscar again. Image

Friday is movie night here at home. That's good because yesterday we drove around the city limits visiting gardeners and gathering flowers and other plants plus a few other related things.

Today it was cut the front and back lawns, take a drive to get soil and mulch because I ran out of room in the car yesterday, and help Mrs. FSB plant the whole shebang. Looks purty now. She did a great job. :D
I am now relaxing with aches and pains that come with age. At least I'll sleep good tonight if the thunder and lightning storm that is happening doesn't keep me awake. If it does I'll watch another movie. :P

Hey FSB - I hope you got some good sleep last night and aren't too sore today. :) Sounds like a good rain is just what your new plants need. It does my heart good to hear how close you and your Mrs are. I really miss that. Yesterday, my son helped me bring my recumbent exercise bike downstairs from the loft so I will use it, hopefully. He did most of the lifting but I'm still sore. Getting old sure isn't for sissies, as they say.

Had a great sleep and rose early to enjoy the day. That was really nice of you to take time to recognize the Mrs. Both of them, Marky. Nice you have your son to share times with and to help out. We never got to experience that; but, we made up for it in other ways. I'm enough for Mrs. FSB to handle. :P
In 2021 we may be able to celebrate 50 years together. There's no special secret on how to do it, IMHO, except to be realistic and have the understanding and ground rules/expectations laid out on the table from the beginning - before tying the knot. Too many people bring these matters up only when they show up, and they often kid themselves into thinking they know each other well enough to only grow with the relationship. YMMV

I believe relationships of all kind (using examples of creatures large and small) have dominant leadership. So we use a ratio of 51/49 % for decisions. I have a mom who was 51%, but in our house I get the 51% except when I don't (I give in a lot)
And you are right. Youthfully challenged isn't for sissies. We're pretty tough and resilient. :D

Rain is good as long as it doesn't over do it. I likes a little refreshing rain.

Wow 50 years together coming up. That's really wonderful. My wife and I were together for 38 years. I totally agree with your perspective on relationships. You and your Mrs have a terrific outlook. :D

I drove my parents crazy about going to Thom Mcan Shoes‎ to get a pair of Beatles Boots. My feet were to wide, and didn't fit in them at all. No Beatle Boots for this kid!

I know what you mean. I wear a size 13 wide width. At least they have a lot more wide width options available, including Beatle Boots (I've seen them.)

That place is almost like a Home Depot for sheets and bath towels, or at least the one around here is. It kind of has that warehouse vibe to it.

My uncle, my wife, and I went shopping long ago. He took time to train me that there are bad entrances and good entrances to stores. Bad entrances include anything related to home furnishings and women's fashion, and good ones include tools and man toys. I always point out the bad entrances and work my way towards the good ones. I get the heebee geebees when I see the bad ones. :P
FSB
If you get dragged into a bad entrance look for a good quick exit.

That sort of thing never bothered me, but I'm just probably one of those weirdos who actually likes to go shopping. :P

I just got the charcoal and gas barbecues prepped for the summer.

I know some of you will laugh that it is June already; but, I can't roast pulled alligator tongues and chipotle snake rattles on a cactus skewer in 40 below weather like some of you lucky southerners. So I keep 'em frozen until this time of year. :P
Meanwhile, I'm going to plant some prickly bushes in the hot sun today. Hope I don't get burnt or skewered.
